Moochie’s Mementos (and a pic or two)

Music has always been a big part of my life. I also associate certain songs with events in my life, some big events and some just small, special times.

Fortunately for me, most of those associated events were good times. I rather enjoy it when I hear a song and recall that special time.

I enjoyed your story about how you met your female friend, and how music was associated with that. Sounds like you got the better half in the "divorce".

Yay, you! This one has been the only one I vied for when they broke up. We laugh about it now because he got their TV/DVD combo and she got me. She (and we) made out way better.

It is a really strange song. Not ska, not rock, not classy… just tubthumping. I like to excuse it as an experimental (and not always good) time in music.

Everyone loves a cover band just like everyone loves karaoke. If you’re not singing along to the cover band, they’re doing it wrong, and at least one cover should be done by any good band/musical group. It’s about the fans and being one.

I liken music memories to scent memories. Almost every song I’ve heard more than twice has a memory attached to it. It is interesting to me how so much music has meaning behind the words.

Hahaha! I don’t know, the words aren’t that bad… and it’s super catchy. It’s like a terrible earworm my kid will be humming off-tune for weeks (which they have been).

I’ve rarely heard of the songs or artists that you quote in your thread and with my crap hearing it’s pointless trying to listen, but the words in this latest one make sense in a way, they have a meaning which to me, a lot don’t. I’m probably talking crap but never mind.

I can remember how good life for me was when this came along and how I still had such optimism and joy for the world. Hello there, welcome to my thread! I will see whether I have the ability to capture what you’re thinking here… the issue with using tinsel/garland as a rope is I can’t really get good tension, but I bet I can work something cute out with a mix of rope and sparkles.
