Then how are they getting to our Southern boarder? I've seen maps. It seems to me, you need to be in Mexico to get to our boarder from the south. If Mexico won't stop it, then we need to stop doing business with them.

It's almost as if this is a much more complex issue than "Mexico isn't stopping them, so stop paying Mexico"

No, it's that simple. If they are walking here from Central America (which is where I believe they are coming from), then there are several countries that are at least complicit in allowing them to traverse their countries.

Or there are several countries that don't have resources enough to manage it all.

Last I checked, there was a bit of a drug issue in some of these countries....maybe the might be using some resources on that......

I don't understand why you think Mexico doesn't have the ability to stop a group of 60,000 people from walking across their country. They should start by controlling THEIR southern boarder.

I never said they don't have the ability. I said it is much more complex than just getting it done. And our money and economies are much more intricate than just "stop paying them"

And then you get to throw in all the other countries in the mix.....many have a less federalized control over things than we do here in the US.

Mexico is trashed quite often in the US, but they have always been a valuable partner on multiple fronts.

What is so "complex" about telling them to stay on that side of the line and enforcing that order?

No one is saying anything about taking actions against Mexico, certainly not contrary to CUSMA, which really doesn't apply here (it's not a treaty, after all). We're taling about keeping illegal aliens out of America. If Mexico wants to take them in, that's fine.

Whether or not there is a caravan leader making bold statements and threats... and whether or not there are 60,000 people in this caravan... the issue is what do we do about illegal immigration?

Whether the people are from Haiti or Central America, they are coming to the U.S. because for them, it's a matter of life or death... and when humans are faced with that choice, there is no stopping them with a wall or law enforcement or the military. In all of human history, no wall has ever permanently kept a group of people on one side if they were motivated to get to the other side. It's about time we the people grow up... recognize that a certain political party WANTS issues at the southern border to invoke fear and idea they're being persecuted to galvanize its base... and actually address the real problem of 13 million illegal immigrants already in the country and why more will keep coming until we solve the problem.

35 years ago, POTUS Reagan proposed we issue illegal immigrants a temporary work visa / green card so we would know who they were, register them and allow them to work and pay taxes. 30 years ago, Nancy Pelosi... the bitch the fascist republicans love to hate... agreed with Reagan but tacked on a $ 25,000 fee per person for the temporary work visa / green card... no path to citizenship and no right to vote... just an ability to work. The fees collected were to support social security, medicare and improve veterans healthcare. No proposal has been made to resolve the situation since... primarily because fascist republicans would rather use the issue to brainwash and galvanize their base... so the wealthy can get wealthier.
Whether it's this caravan or the next one or the one after that... make no mistake... it's a matter of life or death for these people... if they stay in their home country, they die by the age of 48... if they get into the U.S. they live better until 68... so until we have a solution in their home countries, they'll continue to come and they'll continue to get in and we'll continue to pay for the 13 million illegal immigrants already here.
