These are 2 of the 3 paintings i did last night. I don't want to explain what i see in them, i want people to look at them and tell me what they see :)

This one is called 'Zeher' which is 'Poison' in Hindi

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v140/FallenFG/art/Zeher001.jpg

This one is called 'The Spice of Life' because the yellow is Turmeric and the orange/red is Chilli powder (both made into a paste). I tend to 'paint' with spices because it's interesting.

The 3rd picture i shall consider putting up later today or perhaps tomorrow.

Oh wow honey, i like those a lot. Especially the first one! To me it looks like a person standing in the wind and their silk tunic is blowing slightly in the wind. Consideering the name I know I am way off. Its just the image I got in my head when i saw it.

You have to tell us what it was, to garner any comments, sweets.

:)

I was hoping someone else had seen it. It was a talent show format and one of the girls did an amazing dance/martial arts sequence. She was up against a male gymnast using straps from the ceiling... anyway - one of the judges told her to go find a man, get married and get back to the kitchen where she belonged <fumes>

take solace in the fact that his is a dying breed.

now, how can I turn this into a flirt to win your approval? I do promise that the kitchen is not the room I'm intending to lure you into...

~~ I am so so so fucking pissed off. If the cloud doesnt break by 5pm there is going to be all hell when Dad get's home. I so so so needed to go there and sit, watch, listen, perhaps write and definately take photographs- a couple of rolls at least. *sigh* i swear, if it's cloudy later (so i cant see the sunset) i will cry. It's THE perfect time of year. I WILL just cry.

Confession time:

Two pieces of wholewheat toast with peanut butter and honey
Two banana and bulgarian yoghurt smoothies
Half a packet of jelly beans
A bowl of muesli
A glass of grapefruit juice
Left over roasted veg from last night
Few handsful of raisins
A packet of dried mango
Two cups of coffee
Two servings of vegetable lasagne
5 glasses of water

And it's only 13h10... It is with utter willpower that I decided to just look at my daughters chocolate. Mitigating circumstances though . . .

Bugger it - a couple of small pieces of chocolate aren't going to make any difference to that very healthy mountain ;)

No idea what it was, and thankfully didn't see it. Might have a tv with a hole in the screen if I had.

Arseholes like that aren't worth the time and effort to get worked up.

suicide is always an option.. thats one comforting thing.

It is an option, and it has been a comforting thought to me as well. However, revenge suicide is just fucking stupid. If you're gonna do it, do it for YOU.

That said, I hope you choose differently.

Oh puh-lease! You display that panty av for a week, run miles every day, do yoga, and then characterize this list of grass-and-stick food as something 'sinful'? Veggie lasagna is the only real food I see on the list (although yogurt and PB border on such.)

An aside, and this is by no means directed at Vana, who was simply using a trope that is current in society today: Am I wierd for being uncomfortable with the formula that gastromic enjoyment equals "sin" ? I know gluttony is one of the so-called seven deadly sins, but I'm not speaking theologically here. Doesn't a "sin" have to harm another person for the word to be meaningful? Leaving out unhealthy obesity brought on by chronic overeating (an offense against rationality under my system), isn't there something nacissistic about viewing occassional gastronomic indulgence as "sin" ?

Another aside: In a Robert Tannenbaum novel there was a very interesting discussion about the difference between the eastern concept of 'shame' vs. the west's 'guilt.' If you wrong another person, feeling guilty does nothing to make him whole - guit is internal and self referential. Shame exists in the context of one as part of a group, and perhaps is more productive in generating behavior change in the future, and perhaps an apology to the other person in the present. I'm winging it here, because I forget the details of the discussion. Guilt is a stain that can't be removed - you did it, you shouldn't have, it's on your 'permanent record.' But shame is somehow different? Maybe I should start a thread. Maybe the item above sheds some light on this distinction - feeling guilty about an act that involves no other human being - purely self-referential. Could one be "ashamed" to have engaged in an isolated gastromic overindulgence - would that make sense semantically?

I'm weird, I know.

But shame is somehow different?

Shame as inforced in collectivist cultures suggests that someone of authority- usually an elder would decide that repentence is called for. Guilt on the other hand is a personal 'state' that can't directly affect those wronged.

Does that make sense?

I think guilt needs to come with something- a concious act of gorgiveness seeking, or repayment in punishment. Whereas with shame it's almost automatic. I think where shame is concerned however, there is more to it- to be one who has been shamed because of something undertaken by oneself, you are outcast to a degree, tarnished and made an example of- something that may be forgiven when repentence is sought, but less so forgotten.

However, i think it really depends upon the degree to which offence/ hurt has occured.

~~ Yay im as weird as Rox :D

~~ OK, so to make up for my NOT eating, i thought it'd be a good idea to have 1 and a half portions of pasta with the leftover sauce i made last night, and a whole bagguette of garlic bread! couldnt finish the pasta- i'll have it later *feels full* in my defence, i had intended all of the above to be suited for lunch AND for dinner!

Little and often missus

ps- processed carbs like white bread and pasta turn into sugar almost immediately. Try wholewheat. Tastes nicer, keeps you full for longer and keeps your blood sugar even.

pps- tell me when me giving advice all the time gets irritating and I'll stop ;)
