Piercings and Tattoos

I have two tattoos, the first one I got 3 months ago. It means "life transformation" and incorporates Venus the morning star (the dawn of a new day) with the spokes on the outside representing a rotation or independent movement. At my lover's suggestion it is on the small of my back, so that I am going forward from the moment of change. It measures about 2 inches across.

This is special to both of us, because I got it done on the last day of the first visit I made to him, and because I am starting a new life with him.....

The second one I got just over 2 weeks ago, on my second visit to see my love. He calls it our "love symbol" and is going to get it incorporated into his own tattoo when he gets it. This one's on my left upper arm, where I can show it off or cover it as circumstances require. This one's about the same size as the first one......I prefer tribal and celtic designs done in blackwork :)

After reading this thread I checked out the web sites you recomended. I have a few questions now. What is a Christina piercing? My name is Christina so it caught my eye when someone mentioned it in the description of their experience. Unfortunately she just said she wasn't able to get it. She never said what IT was. I know it is some type of female piercing but I would like more detail.
I have 7 tats and my tongue pierced. I would love to get another piercing but I can't decide where to get it done. I'm scared to get anything below the waist because I'm afraid something will get messed up. I have heard that many women have an instant orgasm when they get their clit pierced. Is that true?

I just got tattoo today! I'm very excited. I got a tribal design with a blue Libra symbol over it. :) I was very happy with how everything went.

I think I want to get my tongue pierced. I have a problem with metal though, allergies. I can wear stainless steel (my glasses) and titanium (class ring). From what the piercer told me, he's never had a problem with it before. Has anyone heard of someone being allergic to thier tongue rings? I really don't want to spend $50 on something that I'll just have to take out.

I'm already looking for my next tattoo design though.

I got my first tattoo a week after I turned 18 (Guess what I did today, mom? Heh.) That was a little over a year ago, and I want another one....Soon....when I get more money...

As for piercings, I'm plain and just have my ears done. I -did- have a cartilage ring, but I had to take it out for class (clinicals and ride-alongs have very strict dress code rules *huffs*) I want my tounge or eyebrow done, but will have to wait a while....Might have to forget about the eyebrow for a while, too. Not too many Paramedics out there with eyebrow rings.

Here's my tattoo....It's the Wiccan Tripple Goddess symbol....

Funny how things turn out hey.........i did start a new life but not with the guy I posted about, but the tats are still special :) Wanting to get some more, perhaps some scrollwork under the back tat or something on the right shoulder :p

Tattoos are by far one of hte greatest body modifications besides working out and going to the to the gym. Plastic surgury is to cliche. But tattoos are awesome. If you have a tattoo you are part of a community of people with a common intrest. you could be the biggest asshole in the world but no matter who it is you will always take tim to discuss your work with someone that you wouldnt normally give the time to. I have 5 so far all tribal on on my leg both my inner forarms and my outer forarms aare in the process of being done for a 3/4 sleeve taht will be going across my shoulders/ I love tattoos. the pain the art and the ink. the pain turns me on and makes me so fucking horny that i almost get a hard on from it. but thats just me. i love them on women and love to see womens tattoos. i was at an insurance broker and this woman was working i was always attracted to her and she had one on her lower back just above her ass crack and she showed me it turned me on taht an older woman had one and she showed me taht i had to see it again i have always wanted to have sex with her... those are my stories

Question regarding hood piercings and funtionality...

OK, I'm a complete newbie/neophyte when it comes to piercings in "unorthodox" places - "unusual" perhaps for someone with an alternative soul who lives in San Francisco --

Have a question regarding hood piercing - does it make it easier to orgasm clitorally (something I need) and does it keep you stimulated throughout the day (something I would enjoy but can't afford since I have to earn a living :) ).

I have a very small clitoris that likes to hide in it's hood when I'm most aroused (I figure it's the Goddess' personal little cosmic joke for me since she also granted me a raging libido). In any case, its rare that even my regular partners can help me achieve clitoral orgasms without my taking over "close to the moment" since I need so much pressure there. While I can get that g-spot orgasm (and ejaculate) fairly often with the right stimulation, I love receiving oral but know that my partners get frustrated (and I do, also) since they often cannot make me cum that way, even though I know/explain it's a function of biology and nothing else.

I was thinking that maybe a hood piercing would help, then reading here learned about vertical vs. horizontal for the first time.

So:

Does it increase clitoral pleasure?
If so, between vertical and horizontal, is one more likely to give me what I seek than the other?

Thank you ahead of time for the replies!

(Thanks for the other info - based on what else I've read here, I think I'll go out and get pierced this week if it will help the way I'm hoping and I can get an appointment!)

Angel,

Please be aware that "surgical steel" is no such thing. That is a title made up by the jewely industry to con the public. If you have no reactions, then great--but if you ever have had any reactions to it, don't mess with it anymore. I only wear titanium in my puss and will switch to monofilament the next time I have surg, if possible (There is no real need to remove them, I have learned that by now--but it can ease the hassle with the OR staff).

I personally wear silver exclusively above the waist and titanium below. (I do want some of the pieces for my above the waist wear from a certain talented but recently quite individual who hangs out in the general board a lot. )

this is completely misleading information.

'surgical steel' is stainless steel - only it's a much more refined and better quality than your average 'cutlery/kitchen sink' stuff.
surgical steel, as explained previously by another person in this thread, is commonly either 316L or 316LVM standard, both of which do not leach nickel salts into the body, and both of which are approved for implantation into the body.

as for using silver in any piercing other than earlobes - well, that is an absolute NO NO.
silver does leach nickel, as well as a few other metals, which can seriously affect the health of the body and the tissues immediately surrounding the piercing site.

gold should only ever be used in piercings that do not involve glandular tissue or mucous membranes, and should also be 14 ct or higher in quality.

I'm getting ready to pierce my right nipple tonight, if anyone wants to see. I will take pictures as I go. I'm very nervous. I have my left one pierced already. It was done professionally. I ordered a kit online. I wanted my girl to pierce me, but she aint got the guts! Well, i'll be back!

My left i went with i pierced at 14, and then went to 12. The one I did tonight i pierced at 12, and found out the jewelry was 10 when I went to put it in. I took the 12 out of my other nipple for now.

as a professional piercer, i do NOT condone self-piercing.

body-piercing is a SURGICAL PROCEDURE, and should only be undertaken by a qualified, trained and experienced operator.

it may seem like it's just a case of 'stick a needle in and put the jewellery in'... but there are all sorts of risks associated with it, not least the possibility of infection resulting in major problems.

think very carefully before deciding to do this yourself.

I agree, you should be careful. I also believe that there is no reason not to "self pierce", as long as you follow proper sterilisation protocol. As I did! Piercing My own nipple was an awsome experience!! Why discourage it?!!!

you own an autoclave and a sharps disposal container?
and you've done Pathogen Control as a pre-requisite?

I had sterilized needle, boiled my clamp for 5 min., washed my hands, put on sterile gloves, and did not pay 40 dollors. Do you pierce for a living? Am I discouraging your business?
