I’m so old I remember…

OK, now find the half past midnight forecast where the warning was issued that it had veered. Nobody remembers that because the journalists had all gone down the pub to get pissed and so the false narrative spread that it was a 'wrong' forecast.

PS It never reached Force 12 on the south coast, only for the final ten minutes it spent over the Suffolk coastline.

Programming the video recorder took skill and precision, if you mastered it, you had the power!

Also: those plastic cases for VHS tapes that made them look all bookish.

Never mind video recorders, I remember when the remote control came out. It was the only exercise people got, getting up out of their chair to turn the channel over, that said most parents got the kids to do it. That was something as well, watching tv as a family.

When tuning the TV in meant flipping the little panel down and twisting the knob to get the right channels. Had to wait for the adverts to finish to see if you’d got right channel. Or have TV times to hand.

when you got Tyne Tees and ITV in different parts of the house. I had T.T on my little white Fergison portable, while downstairs it was ITV.

Wogan on Radio 2, when Radio 2 played Radio 2 music.
The Janet and John stories 🤣
posh folk used to listen to radio2
I loved Terry on Radio 2, stopped listening to the morning show when he left.
I remember Ulrika Johnson messing with one of the gladiators
She messed around with loads of people.
Using a TV as a monitor for eight-bit computers, that little switch at the back.
And it interfering with the VCR signal.
