When to tune the tv, you had to open a little panel and turn small thumb wheels.


I also remember when the remote was dad telling one of the kids to change channel.

Oh and at the end of the day the BBC announcer would say goodnight and the National Anthem would play. Followed about 5 minutes later with just a long loud continuous tone.

ISOIR that just before that there was usually a final weather forecast, sometimes involving a storm which had unexpectedly veered northward and now wasn't going to pass across Normandy and the Pas-de-Calais as the 9:30pm one had said, but head towards Great Yarmouth via SE England instead.
