For Those Who Might Be Wondering Why We Might Be In Ukraine

Russia amasses 160,000 soldiers for new Ukraine offensive

Russia could initiate an intensified summer offensive in Ukraine within days or weeks, possibly involving 160,000 troops gathered near the front line, CNN reported on July 17. The report suggests Russia aims to exploit a 50-day pause before potential U.S. sanctions.

Analysts note that over the past two weeks, Russia has strengthened its positions in the Pokrovsk, Kupyansk, and Kostiantynivka sectors. Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, commented on the CNN report, stating that the Russian offensive has not stopped. “The intensity has varied, Russia’s army has been halted by Ukraine’s Defense Forces, and all the ‘new’ reports in the media are just the injection of additional reserves into an ongoing effort,” he said.

U.S. analyst Keir Giles from Chatham House wrote that the 50-day window provides Moscow with diplomatic maneuvering room. “The deadline of 50 days gives Russia plenty of time to concoct its own alternative plan, and once again outmanoeuvre Washington through a diplomatic ploy which Trump may well accept willingly,” he stated.

“Trump’s latest extension of his notional deadlines for Putin extends Ukraine’s suffering for the same arbitrary period.”

Of course it does. Trump is selling aid to Ukraine, but he's stalled so long that it will take a while to get there and in the meantime, he's given Putin 50 days to try and overwhelm the Ukrainian defences and force a surrender. Don't be fooled, he hasn't changed his spots. Trump is still assisting Putin. He's just makimg the noises he needs to keep the pro-Ukraine wing of the Republicans on side for now.

Now factor in THE SIX MONTH DELAY IN FUNDING FOR UKRAINE THAT WAS ORGANIZED BY THE TRAITOROUS ORANGR POS, AND THE OTHER ACTS OF SABOTAGE ORCHESTRATED BY THE TRAITOROUS ORANGE POS & THE MAGAT REPUBLICANS THAT UNDERMINED THE UKRAINIAN WAR EFFORT.

🤬

We. Told. Them. So.

A better question would be: "Why does Russia stay in Ukraine?"

If Russia wins this war Russia will win a bombed out country full of people who hate Russia.

Putin must be thinking: "If we pull out of Ukraine now, 100,000 brave Russian boys will have died in vain."

Putin wants to correct a mistake by prolonging it.

40 Abrams tanks gifted by Australia have arrived in Ukraine. Not the latest models (2004), but interesting to see how they perform against Russian relics and drones.

I don't believe putin really cares that much at all about the casualties as long as he gets what he wants. That's the mistake Trump is making - he thinks Ptun cares about Russians dieing. He does't, not in the slightest, and neither do most Russians - esp as most of the deaths are either non-Russian minorities or the dregs of Russian society.

Been a while since I contributed to this thread so I thought I'd jump in because of the tie-in to my "Experts" thread.

When this whole thing started all the "experts" said it would be over in no time, the Russians are going to steam roll the Ukrainian's. I, along with many others, believed them. Then came the stalled drive on Kiev do to logistic fuck ups, you know, little shit like fuel, food, and water. The only thing missing from the list was ammunition and that's probably because the Russians were walking back home before they had a chance to expend what they may have carried with them.

It's been one fuck up after another on the Russians parts. We have learned, without a doubt, that they cannot execute combined arms operations. The Ukrainians are out foxing them at every turn. Oh, the Russians have learned and adapted but the Ukrainians have stayed one step ahead. In other words the Russians are reacting, not acting.

In a war of attrition the Russians still have the upper hand. They have the manpower (for now) and the manufacturing capabilities. The Ukrainians are totally dependent on the NATO nations for material support. And there is still the possibility of Putin doing something incredibly stupid out of desperation.

There are rumblings to discontent coming out of Moscow and while none are confirmed they do tie in the the recent rash of high officials and Oligarchs having fatal "accidents" or committing suicide.

Then there sits China supporting and encouraging Putin. There is no nation that would benefit more from Russia destroying itself than China. I can't believe for a minute that Putin trusts the Chinese. But there he is, destroying his own nation for what gain?

So Much for Bringing an End to the War Closer: Trump’s Deadline Invites Escalation in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump’s recent 50-day ultimatum to Russia regarding a peace deal with Ukraine, coupled with the threat of sanctions, may backfire. The move could "inadvertently" embolden the Kremlin, giving it relatively free hands for the next seven weeks to act rather than pressuring it towards peace. The Russians simply “don’t take this kind of ultimatum seriously.” There's a historical pattern of past deadlines set by Trump that have been disregarded by Russian President Vladimir Putin, suggesting that the Kremlin views such pronouncements as mere posturing.

The Russians are smart enough to realize that what Trump has done is simply say we’re going to look away for seven weeks, and the Russians will then do what they want. The timing of Trump’s deadline is particularly perilous. Coming in mid-July, it coincides with the “prime time for military advance” for Russian forces, as the ground is dry enough for significant troop and tank movements. The 50-day limit has come at a time when Russians in the next seven weeks, which is to say taking us the rest of July through August into early September, is the prime time for military advance. The Russians understand that, and that’s how they read what was done. Russian commentaries suggest that the Kremlin perceives itself as “winning” and views this 50-day period as “another victory.” Russia will exploit this window to inflict as much damage as possible on Ukraine.

Trump knows this. He's allowed some aid to Ukraine to go thru to placate the pro-Ukraine Republicans, while doing nothing to sanction Russia, and in facte giving them a carte blanche to go ahead with their summer offensive. TACO is still working hard to support Russia. For seven weeks, they can behave as badly as they want, and while Trump has said he might cut 50 days to some shorter period, he probably won’t, while he' allowed the Russians time to do as much damage as they can to Ukraine.

TACO's 50-day deadline, far from compelling Russia to the negotiating table, has provided a critical window for intensified aggression and further suffering in Ukraine.

This is the way. These guys are all dead, even if it takes years. Mossad will be as nothing compared to the Ukrainian SBU

It must have been SO humiliating for good ol' Vlad, that Kursk incursion! The first time since the second World War that foreign troops have marched into Russian territory . . .

And this even more so. The Russian transportation network is being continually disrupted by Ukrainian drone attacks

I would say there’s a 50/50 chance either way as to whether that bloated genocidal POS died from cardiac arrest or a targeted SBU assassination. But really, who cares…

😑

The bottom line is: that POS genocidal cross between Pugsly and Uncle Fester is dead.

👍

One of Ukraine's most important objectives in the war against Russia is to recapture the occupied Crimean Peninsula from Russian control. Many analysts and politicians say it isn't possible - but they miss several very important points. Here, Paul Warburg takes a look at how Ukraine actually CAN retake Crimea, and why it could surprisingly be much easier than most people even imagine.

The war in Ukraine is not going to end any time soon
- Crimea was strategic at the start of the war - due to it's central position on the Black Sea Coast and the year-round ice-free port of Sevastaopol.
- Crimea is no longer strategically important - naval drones and missiles have eliminated it's strategic position as a naval base and Ukraine can hit any target in Crimea when they choose
- The things that make Crimea easy to defend (peninsulal, narrow choke points) also make it extrenely vulnerable - the Kerch Bridge being key for the Russians, and also it's water supply
- Vulnerable to beseige and the ability to cut the choke points
- When Ukraine is ready to take Crimea back, they can cut of all access routes
- Ukraine's strartegy is to lock into defensive positions and inflict huge losses on Russians until the Russian military and ecpnomy break - WW1 strategy
- When this happens, the battle for Crimea will take place - after the Russian military and economy break down
- Ukrainian drone production and technology is racing ahead - Ukraine could at some stage soon overwhelm the ground defences of Ukraine with drones
