And could lead to the fall of the Mexican government. The various law enforcement organizations are corrupt and cannot be trusted. The Mexican military is actually pretty damned squared away and want the Cartels taken down...........badly. So if US military shows up in Mexico uninvited by the government their military gets stuck between a rock and a hard place. They can join in with the US, try to defend against the US, of sit it out. Any of those permutations can turn ugly real quick.

There's a swamp down there just above S. America. No road passes through it and it's the sole reason why you can't drive from Alaska to Cape Horn.

Sounds like a good stopping point for the annexation acquisition.
