She offered to settle for a pittance. Liability law in the U.S. is dumb as fuck but McDonald’s deserved to pay every cent it did.

Thanks for the additional info. That was a long time ago and I didn't remember all the details. If McDonald's decided to fight her, then yes, I absolutely agree she deserved every penny.

Understood, and I clarified my position above. Was just an offhand comment, didn't mean for it to become national debate. But maybe I should have sued Oscar Mayer when I was cooking bacon naked... 😆

The mods are all very familiar with my antics, and a couple of them have told me that I'm on an unofficial watch list, so to speak. I'm at least good acquaintances with most of them, and personal friends with a couple. If any of them think I've crossed the broad, fuzzy, and generally unenforced red lines of Lit, I'm absolutely certain they'll let me know and give me at least a verbal spanking. Frankly, I'm surprised I haven't been banned before now. 🤣

One time, I asked my bestest mod friend on here how many messages I had had removed for inappropriate content, because I and another Lister had both had posts removed due to very... enthusiastic insults to each other. She told me I had about 20 posts in the queue to the reviewed, but mostly posts in a thread that had just been moved to another board.

There's actually a thread called Ask a Mod. Virtually all the mods who are active on here are also very friendly and funny ladies. So if you're curious, just ask one of them.
