The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

It's a tich past 0330 and I have finally caught up! That will teach me to skip a day, or two! I wish you all a marvelous Monday.💗✨💞 I'm off to bed to sleep for about 20 minutes before the crew gets here. 😖🙄

I am retired and so Mondays have a new feeling for me. I tend to stay home on weekends to avoid weekend crowding.

It was delicious. Have more for the next couple of days.

Does anyone get out of sorts at the holidays... I don't really enjoy them. I force myself to do "fun" stuff but it is exhausting..... I guess since we didn't really celebrate as kids.... we were poor.... I just don't get all the pomp and circumstance
I’m torn about this. My mother grew up very poor, so attempted to make the holidays very special. I love her for that. My wife grew up in a divided household (Catholic vs Jehovah’s Witness…the JW a former Catholic) so she remembers the holidays as nothing but conflict. Our house is her trying to skip the holidays and myself trying to emulate my mother’s example.

What I have done to make it less stressful is to just enjoy the moment. Take everything slow. Cook things that only get made this time of year. Watch movies that have sort of become family traditions…even if they’re not holiday oriented (Like Water for Chocolate being one), write my Christmas cards, and gift giving is something I make or something that someone needs. Lastly, just try to bring a smile to peoples face.

That’s the Hump’s keys to the holidays. You’re welcome!😂. Your MZ…

I loved running for stress relief!
Of course, more like jogging for me.
12-15 minute miles and 2-5 miles on average.
Really loved those runs!
Yeah, there’s something so nice about running and being outside.

I really miss running. It was my favorite workout. But I need lower impact now, so spinning bike and elliptical. Or walking.

This year yes.

I actually love thanksgiving. It’s my favorite holiday, but now that my mom is so old and frail, i don’t know how it’s gonna work.

Christmas is normally my jam. We didn’t have much of Christmas either when I was a kids

But I probably overcompensate for it by getting extra into it. We have crazy traditions: the Christmas Mastadon, the Godzilla tree topper, punk rock ornaments, the Christmas morning Torino ride w Santa hats, dancing around the juke box, pumpkin smooshing, our special Christmas cookie family recipe and luminaries in the driveway.

But I ain’t feeling it this year. We’ve had a significant change in family dynamics the last two years which has really changed a lot. 🫤
🤣. We do things like this! We had the whole cast of the Rudolph animated show as tree ornaments. The Abominable being my favorite. Some hand made yarn spun goats from Mexico and traditional German wooden ornaments from when we lived there. And my personal favorite…Yoda! My oldest son had a small figurine he put in the tree when he was maybe 5. It was carelessly put away with the decorations and we thought he’d been lost. Found him the next year, and now he’s had a starring role in the tree for the last 20 + yrs!😂.

I did a theatrical performance on puns. It was a play on words.

The shovel was a ground-breaking invention.

My math teacher called me average. How mean!

Gravity jokes are getting old, but I fall for them every time.

Thanks for explaining the word “many” to me. It means a lot.

Bad puns? That’s how eye roll.

I tried suing the airport for misplacing my luggage, but in the end, I lost my case.

I felt lonely, so I bought some shares. It’s nicer having some company.

There’s a fine line between a numerator and a denominator – and only a fraction of people will find that funny.

The only thing flat-earthers have to fear is sphere itself.
These are great! Endless amusement for small minds like mine!

Love those fun and funky traditions!!

We took a trip to Scotland during Thanksgiving once and it made the holiday better as they only celebrated black Friday! We had a turkey sandwich for dinner 😂
The year I studied in Scotland, this came to an absolute shock to the other students and their parents.

Still baffles me why they someone would ever think a country in the UK would celebrate an American holiday. But there you go.

You will not, therefore, be astonished to learn that many Americans in France are staggered that life goes on as normal on July 4th.

Happy Monday!!! Sunny, getting cooler. December will be here next week. Foot is still a bit sore. Walking is backed off and we're working back into it. I reckon that we overdid. Replaced the keyboard because the mouse wheel kicked it and they're a matched pair. Cats are good.
