The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Coyote. I stand corrected either heavy winter coat. Checked fish and game and wolves are almost extinct in new jersey.
Young male wolves will travel long distances from what I've heard...

We have packs of both. The howl from each is very distinctive. Coyote is high pitched, almost like a yipping little dog. Wolf is very deep, and menacing sounding. You KNOW it's big! Makes the hair on your neck stand up, especially when walking out of the woods after dark.🤣

Welcome to the café.

We do things a bit differently here than most of the rest of Lit. But here’s how we roll.

1. If ya wanna talk about your jacking off habits there are probably other threads that are better fits for you.
2. We’re not too sexual here. Think of it as a bunch of old folks at a bar or at a coffee joint. We also don’t hit on the women here. There’s about 673832 other threads for that.
3. No politics, religion or drama.

Everyone is welcome but we are protective of the vibe we have here. This applies to all who visit this thread.

If this feels like a good match, welcome... if not you may have better luck on another thread.
He went poof!!!

Well today was interesting…it started on the Merse hoping for geese. It was a clear sky and the temperature was now 19f with a heavy Haw Frost. As the sun rose the whole world just sparkled. The geese didn’t show but I had a photoshoot with a pal for some product placement with Sam. Got some great shots of him retrieving for the Christmas product range. He also did a few posed for me.

After that it was a quick warm up, shower and out with the management for lunch. Finally a trip to the dentist which will ultimately make my wallet hurt more than my mouth.

Now sitting in front of a roaring stove with a pisssy tea having borrowed some electric heaters for a couple of rooms. Heaven knows when parts for the boiler (furnace) will arrive.

We are managing and tomorrow should see the cold starting to abate.

I hear them alot here there's a pack of around 12 on a ridge not too far from me.
It’s a very haunting sound. We have them all over the farm. I see evidence of them, but I’ve literally never seen a coyote live. (Except for dead ones on the side of the road.)

Whenever the fire whistle goes off, especially at night, they go apeshit howling! It’s pretty cool to hear.

Not sure but the squirrels the last few weeks here have been burying nuts all over everyone's lawns.
I’ve been trapping the hell out of them!!

Havahart. Then relocating them to the middle of the woods several miles away.

When I first started doing that several years ago, one of my neighbors said “ you know they have incredible homing instinct, and can find their way back from up to 30 miles away…”

I’m not sure if I’ve had any repeat customers. 😂

Wow. Stay warm!!

Glad the weather will break. That seems exceptionally cold for November.

I did, too! There're always the ones who do minimal work and want to coast on the backs of the other group members.

Fortunately, by the time I was in that program, I knew how to deal with those people; I was a Nursing professor by then.

I was in the program with two of my friends, one of whom was a president at one of the local hospital systems. We were able to pick and choose others who wanted to join our group. (We had a reputation)

We always let prospective members know how the group worked and what the rewards/consequences would be for their actions. People tended to move through the program in a cohort so by the 2nd or 3rd class, we pretty much knew who we were dealing with.
Funny how, even post graduation, that rule still applies.

Some, just end up doing a lot more that their load. Charlatans have learn to smooth talk while the ones denouncing them are perceived as not being team players.

I have learned to steer away from them. 😣

Couple of funny coyote stories…

Bought my youngest some predator calls a few years ago. We’d go to the state park and we’d blow these calls till we were blue in the face. Nothing. One day we’re calling away and the fire brigade launches (their station is right at the entrance to the park) and a whole pack, what sounded like at least a dozen coyote’s erupt in howling! They were close also…we guessed within 50 yds!

Out on the ranges around Ft Bliss, we’d see them everywhere. Every field exercise we had them sniffing around. They were fairly conditioned as they knew we were no threat to them. At NTC one year, our whole Squadron jumped into the box, except for the air assets. The winds were too high and we had to stay at Bike Lake for two days. Well, the troop took all the tents and camo nets so all we had were cots under the stub wings of the Cobra’s! 🤣. The first night I kept waking up to sniffing and snuffling, but in that half in and out haze…till one yapped what seemed like right in my ear! 😮. He had to have come right up to the cot!
