Chaos: Don't Stress, Undress

This week's theme is

Scars

I've seen wayyyyy too many demeaning posts (generally towards women) on here as of late and it saddens me. I want to take a week and celebrate the marks that have made us who we are. As always, I expect all comments to be uplifting and encouraging to everyone who reads it. It's fine to be a little thirsty but recognize, thirst is generally not as well received if you haven't interacted with the person several times before that.

Scars are sometimes of our own doing. Sometimes as a result of living. But the important thing is that we are still living! Show off and tell the story behind the scars that prove you've lived life. Forget having the t-shirt to prove you were there....show em the scar instead! After all, Harry Potter is a stud cause of that little lightning bolt on his head.

This will be uncomfortable for some. Feel free to post non-scar pictures as well. Stay Chaotic!

Do you know what does my tits in?
Scars used as a trope for the antagonist baddie in a film.

This said, I have none because I'm the protagonist goody.

Unless you count these on my elbows I got from being rugby tackled by a grown man as a 14 year old because I was garden hopping.

Here is a non-surgery related scar. This beauty on my thumb was from a work injury. My thumb got crushed, which led to some nasty soft tissue damage. It needed eighteen stitches. I was lucky I didn’t break anything.

I should have lost my thumb, and I got away with a gnarly scar and some nerve damage. I have some surgery scars from when I got my hip fixed last year, and from when my gallbladder was removed. I’ll share those later on.

The worst part about my little thumb mishap was the fact that it was my left thumb, and I’m left handed.

After 5 months in a cast and an unsuccessful healing of my broken wrist, a sliver of my pelvis was sawed off and inserted into the broken bone as a graft, then everything screwed together with a titanium screw.

35 years later, and still holding strong.

By the time the surgical repair healed, I had been unable to use my right thumb for 7 months. I still find myself holding my toothbrush without using my thumb on occasion.

"We can rebuild him..."

That is impressive. Thanks for sharing.
