Manly men sex: Matt Gaetz, Pete Hegsex, etc

Gods be praised, but I do love the lamentations.

They've a better way and they didn't sell it.

Instead, they sold Trump short and

took it in the shorts.

What's it called when elected officials don't have a say in appointments?

One of the sharpest initial reactions we saw came from NYT columnist Ezra Klein. “Demanding Senate Republicans back Gaetz as attorney general and [PETE] HEGSETH as Defense Secretary is the 2024 version of forcing SEAN SPICER to say it was the largest inauguration crowd ever,” Klein wrote on X. “These aren’t just appointments. They’re loyalty tests.”

In that way, it’s a test for every Republican in the Senate to see how they respond to Trump’s wishes. It’s also a test for incoming Senate Majority Leader JOHN THUNE, who won election yesterday — becoming the conference’s first new leader in a generation, as McConnell steps aside — only to have that news dwarfed by the Gaetz story.

Think of it as Senate Republicans’ version of the Kobayashi Maru — the famous exam in “Star Trek” that presents trainees with a no-win situation. It isn’t meant to be passed; it’s intended to reveal something about the people who take it.

What exactly it reveals about Senate Republicans, we’re about to find out.

Trump has been President material and deep in the american psyche in a real way since the 1980’s.

Whine about him all you want. He was born to this moreso than everyone in the USA except maybe the Kennedys. Maybe.

Well after Bill Barr and whats his face before him, Trump needs an absolutely loyal AG who he cam aim like a pitbull for the jugular of those treasonous bastards doig their bst to kneecap the USA and bring us down. There are so many criminal Democrats to investigate and prosecute, starting with Schiff and Cheney, Mayorkas, and a bunch of others, the DOJ and FBI to clean out, the 3 letter agencies to gut, everyone involved in the Russian collusion plot and attempted coup, you name it. We really need to swing a few for treason.... and if anyone's the guy, Gaetz is.

Hahahahahahaha. Haaaahahahahahahahahha. Bwaaahahahahahahha....

President-elect Donald Trump has turned to his legal defense team to fill the top three positions in the Department of Justice after the position of Attorney General.

Todd Blanche, a Department of Justice veteran and former supervising prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, has been nominated to serve as Deputy Attorney General, the number-two slot in that agency. Blanche served as Trump's primary defense counsel in his federal and New York cases.

Emil Bove was co-counsel with Blanche on Trump's trials. He is also a veteran federal prosecutor who served in the Southern District of New York.

D. John Sauer, former solicitor general for Missouri and the man who won Trump's immunity case before the Supreme Court, will become US Solicitor General.

These appointments show why the fixation on Matt Gaetz is mostly posturing. This team has not only worked for Trump; they have worked together very successfully. They are seasoned trial lawyers, and two of them know how the Department of Justice works. They are the guys who will be in charge of Justice's day-to-day operations, and any substantive reform of that agency will be their doing.

The great legal minds inside the Department of Justice who ran the various legal cases against Trump and his associates, the jaywalkers and trespassers of January 6, and pro-life grandmas may have just entered the FO stage of FAFO.

I'm wondering who Trump is going to pick for FBI director.

I'd love to see Sheriff Lamb from Arizona in that seat.

Question - what is Gaetz's law record? Or do we not care?

For example - Garland has been in law since 1977 in various capacities. Private practice in corporate law, criminal law in the DoJ, judge in the circuit court and now AG.

Gaetz, I'm sure, is there because of his qualifications such as the above rather than his loyalty to a man....right?
And look how corrupt he turned out to be. We dodged a bullet keeping him off the SCOTUS.

Just a thought. The President has Article III authority to adjourn the House and the Senate, but it hasn't been done to make appointments. But the authority is clear. DeSantis could appoint Gaetz under Florida law to the Senate seat vacated by Sen. Rubio. It appears though that Laura Trump may have some interest in that Senate seat as well.

So you don't care about Gaetz's lack of experience.

Got it 👍
According to the Florida Bar, Gaetz is in good standing, and eligible to practice law. He earned his law degree at the William and Mary College of Law. His cross-examinations during congressional hearings demonstrate high levels of intellect and legal prowess.
