Trump doesn't talk much about Venezuela, but there have been hints of a regime-change agenda. Marco Rubio, mentioned as a possible Secretary of State, wants regime change.

You just have to look for the signs. :)
I think a better explanation of things in Venezuela is that the US has adversarial relationships with autocracies. Sadly, much of the good shit we use in the world come from current autocracies, like Venezuela.

AFAIK, the only thing we import from Venezuela is oil.

For which there are other sources.

But most of them are autocracies.

Isn't it about time the U.S. dropped its sanctions on Commie and quasi-Commie countries?

Trump has praised Maduro.

Trump loves dictators.
Trump is a transactionalist and understands that;

1. Sometimes you have to do business with people you don't like.

2. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

And you dumb fucks lost the election partly because your only mode of operation is ad hominem attacks.

Actually, you catch more flies with vinegar than with honey. They like the smell.

But you catch most of all with bullshit.

Only when referring to Biden/Harris policies.

Since we trade freely with China, isn't it about time the U.S. dropped its sanctions on Commie and quasi-Commie countries?

To be clear, I'm sure Maduro did not win the election fairly.

But, that has never before been any condition for the U.S. recognizing a leader's legitimacy.

Trump praised Maduro. Maduro is a dictator.

Trump praised Putin, Orban, Xi Jinping and Kim Jong Un.

Trump loves dictators.
Post some more bullshit. :)

President Donald Trump last August asked several top foreign policy advisers about the possibility of invading Venezuela during a meeting about diplomatic sanctions the US was enacting on the autocratic government, a senior administration official familiar with the comments said.

Saint-Ann doing her “dumb as a box of rocks” impression. 😆

Trump has praised all of the dictators I listed multiple times, including Maduro. Trump loves dictators.

The US establishment have been trying regime change in Venezuela since Hugo Chavez was first elected to power 26 years ago. Apart from a briefly successful coup against Chavez in April 2002 that was overturned after about 36 hours, the US regime change agenda has been thwarted time and time again in Venezuela. They have tried everything from violence in the streets, fake news reports, lawfare, election rigging, recognizing the clown Juan Guaido as leader, stealing Venezuela's assets and gold, falsely claiming that Nicolas Maduro rigged the most recent election, and the Bolivarian Revolution is still in power. It's getting a bit like Cuba in how often the US establishment get defeated there, and the Venezuelan right running off to Florida to join the other gusanos from the Cuban right.
