In this genre, I find there is a lot of stories where family members are already sexually attracted to eachother or fall in love at some point. While I understand how this moves the plot along, I think it dilutes the taboo elements of the story. It is no longer a story of characters doing what they shouldn't, and instead it's about characters who do what they want. The fact that they are siblings or mom/son is inconsequential because they never act like it.
I'm looking for stories were the characters are not attracted to eachother from the start. The characters don't need to be entirely realistic, but they should have some depth. The taboo elements are more scenario based, rather than character based. I'm referring to the scenario being the motivation for why the taboo thing is happening. For example: siblings are living together and one of them is a nudist. Or, the sister is a cam girl and she accidentally walks in on her well-endowed brother in the bathroom. Days later she brings up how much money he could make on cam.
The general idea is that these characters find themselves in sexually awkward, embarrassing, or uncomfortable scenarios that escalate. That is the main component of the genre, growing sexual tension. This doesn't even need to end in hardcore sex either. Maybe the climax is just a blowjob.
The gold standard of taboo stories for me is "Native Sister" by JustAddWater. This is a story about a journalist sister who is living with a remote native tribe with question traditions and customs. She enlists the help of her brother to assimilate into the tribe to help her research.
What are your favorite stories that match this general idea? I know this post was a little long-winded, and a bit specific. It's alright if you have a recommendation that doesn't match this post entirely.
