Some years ago, I learned Keith D's real name. Mostly through him giving a lot away, and me being somewhat of an amateur PI.

The thread about him being MIA resurfaced in the AH today and I decided to dig into this and I found his obit. He passed on 7/29.

I feel it would be unethical to post the link here, but there is no doubt its him. The name I knew, the right age, and the list of accomplishments in his Obit match exactly, the CIA, the theatre and when he retired his publishing/editing business.

He was an active poster here, so I thought people would want to know.

Yeah, the guy actually flew the SR-71 Blackbird for the CIA.

He was a bit of an enigma and was hard to pin down on his political views, but he seemed to be a right- fighter at heart. I suppose being CIA does that.

Definitely a unique personality whose absence had been noticed and will now be mourned by this poster.

🌷

I have also been wondering about the status of Stewart_Pidd and Saint Peter.

Thanks LC. When I started on Literotica back in 2015/2016, Tex, KeithD (SR71PLT back then) and Ogg were all really helpful to a total newbie, and I had some great offline chats with all of them over the years. I knew KeithD was getting on a bit and had had a few health problems and I messaged him a while ago just to tell him how much I valued his help and his (virtual) mentoring and the exchanges we've had over the years. We didn't see eye to eye politically, but the nice thing was we could both put that aside and chat about everything else, including writing, and I'm glad I managed to share that with him before he passed away.

And he had some great stories about SR71's and life in SE Asia in the Cold War days. He sure got around and if ever there was life well lived, it was his.

RIP KeithD, you were one of the best.

I tracked it down. He lived a broad and rich life. No mention of him being a pilot, though. RIP KeithD.

The website, www.sr71.us > Supp_BBook.htm, listing the names of all SR-71 pilots has been taken down. But RIP just the same.

I followed him on the literature side. He was an accomplished writer with over 500 stories. I knew he had not commented here in some time but I could’ve sworn he just published another one of his stories just last month. I was wrong. He will be missed here and on the writing side. I will miss him for his measured and intelligent responses. Thank you for sharing this terrible news. 😢

I found a list of all sr-71 pilots, crew and others who rode but his name wasn’t on any list. As LC said above, he lived a full and interesting life, so…

I knew where he live and checked the obits there and found him. The details were consistent with his comments here on work and publishing.

We didn't get along much. :)
Keith could be rather acerbic but he was also very genuine and you always knew exactly where you stood with him. I'm going to miss him here and on the AH, as well as his stories. He was a really good writer and his competition winners were great. He wrote stories for some of the events I organized as well and they were always good. He was a many-talented guy.
