As ugly as the US Presidential Election has been these past few months, chances are November-January will be uglier.

How many people do you think will be killed in american election unrest in the US between now and innauguration day?

Then give us a better one instead of tilting at windmills...

And remember, you're dealing with Lance.

He's just out for *reactions*.

I doubt you fantasy materializes...
a number of people were killed last election.

This time you’ve had 2 assassination attempts, some say 3.

This time one party is actively preparing to question the outcome

This time you have one felon candidate, one “appointed” candidate and steve bannon freshly released from prison.

“Fantasy?”

Against the backdrop of total population, those are meaningless numbers, and you know that,
but, at least you're having fun with it. I wonder why so many cannot.

Maybe this place is so small and they feel so insignificant in the real conversations playing out in the places where it matters that they feel significant here and can loose their "righteous" frustrations on the enemy of Progress...

The lefties will certainly be disappointed if a peaceful transition unfolds. :)

*chuckle*

I'm betting that when they win, they will mostly peacefully demonstrate in joy...

* Do not plan on any trips to Detroit in the near future *

It's obvious that only one party is the correct party to win and the "other" one will be the one to be angry and do bad things.

Go team! Go patriotism! America first!

I don’t see the Democrats doing bad things when they lose.

Okay, maybe there’ll be a Million Adrina March to toss the Sperm Bank….

FIFY.

What worries is me is not the immediate aftermath, but lingering feeling of loss should Trump lose (and I hope he does). Very similar to many still having feelings for the loss of confederacy.

I am worried about people taking out their anger on those who think were responsible for this loss. No different that how after 9/11, many people were attacked as they were believed to look like the Taliban. If Trump is a decent human being (he is not), he will see if he can assuage this anger. Although I am not optimistic - he will only fan further flames of "they took the election from us," and the cycle continues.

“A bulletin put out earlier this month by the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Intelligence warned that extremist rhetoric about the election could motivate people to “engage in violence, as we saw during the 2020 election cycle.”

Donald Trump’s second defeat will pull the country together in a way his first one didn’t. He will soon be forgotten and his supporters will be ashamed to admit they ever backed him.
