DonOld’s Deportation Dream.

Clinton in 1992 talked like he was going to end China's Most Favored Nation trading status because of its human-rights record, but as president found himself helpless to do that because business interests would not allow it. Trump would find himself helpless to deport on that scale, for the same reason.

John Oliver has a fantastic piece this week. DonOld says there's at least 23 million illegals in the country. The real numbers are around 13. To deport 13 million people would require investigation, arrest, detainment, and finally physically move them out of the country.

There are only 1.9 million people currently incarcerated in prison. Do the math.

Imagine the logistics miracle that would take.

Yep.

I had made that point in another thread some time ago.

Having worked in a field where arrest, detainment, and transportation chewed up vast resources under near-perfect conditions, I can’t imagine what kinds of resources an attempted mass roundup of desperate individuals would chew up. The ICE agent in the 60 minutes interview speculated that it would require a budget the size of the DOD’s and a similar amount of personnel. Sounds about right.

😑

🤬

Trump dreams of bigly detention camps. The biggest. The best ever. Outfitted with bigly gas chambers.
