Kamala’s 2024 Presidential Run

More. Less. Subjective.

I want efficient. They want fair.

Now, here's the problem, to be fair, you have to attack the wealth of those best prepared to extract/protect it. To get to that wealth produces enormous inefficiencies in the governing as they gradually turn the governed into criminals in the hunt for hidden revenue(s). But, if you are consumed by wealth envy, and the left is in the final stages of feverish consumption, the stage just prior to communism, and they want that wealth and you cannot stop them, they are going to get it.

Then, we get to see what the dog does to the delivery truck when he finally catches it.

I'll settle for efficient.

Shrinking big government means streamlining for efficiency and effectiveness. Eliminate redundant and duplicate programs.

'Fair' in my opinion is a dogwhistle for handouts. Creating a social construct where dependency over self reliance has become the norm, where the role of government has become the financier for failure and wealth redistribution is the key to its survival is destroying the very fabric of our republic.

Excessive social programs are bankrupting us. We've become accustom to spending more than we make which provides the excuse to raise taxes which provides the vehicle to spend more and then 36 trillion dollars later we find ourselves an altruistic society but totally broke for it.

Why does Trump bug you so much that you have to come here everyday and put your anguish on full display?

I mean, where is his Fascist State? Was the plan all along to wait until his FIFTH year in office to make his move?

Would real Hitler be that patient? or would he just seize power?

Patience? Really?

You'd have better luck moving stop signs in Oklahoma...

WTF???

Teacher said, "Yeah, I run the stop signs. They put them up every block. It's the only way the politicians can prove they're doing something. They won't do anything to me. I'm old."

Excessive and duplicate programs are how they buy votes: doing "something" for "someone."

That's why I like the FairTax.org. Every time you spend a dollar, you know, $.35 of it went to government. That's why the Left hates it. They don't want you to have a fucking clue as to how much you are paying for far too little, or in most cases, far to much

BUSYBODYISM!

The procedures are also being delayed, for obvious reason: Arranging travel / travel money; availability of services at clinics in free states (backlogs), etc.

So “LATER term abortions” was also a predicted result of Dobbs that has come to pass.

A medically straightforward procedure that could have been performed locally pre-Dobbs is now an unnecessarily cruel, complicated and costly process.

But then cruelty is ALWAYS the point when / where "republicans” are involved.

SAD!!!
States will eventually come to an equilibrium or politicians will be be looking for employment elsewhere.

Okay.

You chose to believe that and I am not here to convert you.

I agree with a fair tax, always have, I believe everyone should have skin in the game. If lower income bracket group find paying taxes burdensome then maybe they'll stop voting for the idiot politicians that overspend. Stop overspending and the interest on the debt goes down, taxes could go down and the debt goes down. Inflation was caused by overspending. Sometimes pie in the sky is the appropriate remedy. It's a complex issue but green energy spending won't solve anything.

Fetuses become babies. Babies become citizens. Citizens contribute to society and the workforce. Killing future citizens at the rate of 1,026,700 a year explains our shortage of domestic population increase needed to keep the system healthy.
Overpopulation is a problem. Underpopulation is not.

I'm not sure the low-income voter is a volume voter...

Too late. We're in a financial death spiral. We can no longer even pretend to service the interest.

When people say overpopulation is a problem, I have found that they generally also tend to hold technology constant and too few people is a real problem once you leave the agrarian phase of cultural existence.

ANOTHER tax policy that favors the rich and corporations is NOT what we need after FIFTY YEARS of the FAILURE of trickle down economics. ( Not to mention the absolute chaos and turmoil implementation would involve / provoke.)

In what way is Trump or the more traditional conservative R's (to the extent they exist) arguing for streamlining or efficiency? Fact of the matter is, both sides want to spend a lot more and have whenever they have a chance. They just spend on different things.

In R-world, that means almost unlimited defense spending even though at the same time they push for isolationism and withdrawal from world affairs. Those are incompatible positions. In terms of social spending, neither party has an interest in reducing it, if for no other reason that 1/3 of the nation is on some kind of housing and food assistance and another 1/3 is on social security/medicare/medicaid (which, incidentally, Rs have been trained not to consider socialism but can't talk about it). If either party went after the social programs Congress would flip at the next mid-term and they know that. Not happening. So after social programs and interest on the skyrocketed national debt (last balanced budget was Clinton's), allowing for a large defense spend, all that's left is "discretionary spending" that, as a percentage of the budget, is quite small.

Perhaps you or your mother/grandma get their checks, and can go to a doctor. What would private insurance cost for an 80 year old, or a 70 year old, but for Medicare in country that spends upwards of 17% of its GDP on healthcare? What would be reasonable - $40,000 / year?

America goes through cycles, and this isn't the first time that the robber baron industrialists, sensing their power and entitlement, want to sweep the cupboards of everybody else. And as before, they enlist masses of common people and convince them for other reasons that to do otherwise is bad or stupid based on thin "principles." Eventually, the masses realize that they've been conned, and flip the script. That is American political history and the cycle we are in now.

As the con men say, "there's always a patsy." Enjoy your day.

That is the only safe assumption. E.g., it would be stupid to plan for the future on the assumption that something inevitably will be invented that can substitute for fossil fuels in a way that will allow industrial civilization in its present form to get along without them. I have noticed for decades now that many on the right do assume that kind of thing.
