Just a counterpoint, Trump started the language rants and threats to democracy on J6. Trump's vilifying Nancy Pelosi got her husband attacked, and Trump laughed about it. Schools and citizens were threatened after Trump's racist rant about Haitians eating people's pets. Full stop. And... I'm not done.

There was never a threat to democracy on Jan 6, there was never a threat to our republic either. If you believe that you shouldn't vote due to being amongst the rest of the uninformed democrat voters.

If Pence had only done what trump told him they would BOTH be in jail now. The military would have arrested them and as many trumptards as necessary and there would be two new people to vote for.

As for voting, I'll certainly do my part to defend democracy at the polls if I'm able to get there on November 5th. No it wouldn't. SCOTUS would eventually have to step in due to challenges from the states. States would've filed lawsuits. Each state has a say. The VP does not have the authority to override individual state results. The VP's role is more ceremonial.
