13 Days of Scary Movies 2024! ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ•ธ๐Ÿ•ท๐Ÿ”ช๐Ÿฉธ๐Ÿ‘ฝ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿค–โ›ช๏ธ๐Ÿช“๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿฆ‡

Day 6: A scary movie that is a remake

Fright Night ๐Ÿฅต When I found out Colin Farrell was playing a vampire, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. When I found out David Tennant was playing the vampire hunter and he'd have his real accent, I almost did die but I definitely wouldn't have gone to heaven.

And here's the trailer, if a shirtless David in leather pants didn't do it for you.
I absolutely, utterly, and completely love the original, but I didn't hate this. I like the different direction they took the Peter Vincent character, and I love David Tennant, but Roddy McDowall's cowardly hasbeen movie host/vampire killer was just perfect.

Evil Ed forever...

I havenโ€™t seen this and I just saw itโ€™s on Tubi a week or so ago. Itโ€™s on my watchlist for when my daughter comes to visit next ๐Ÿคฃ
I just watched it a week or two ago when I saw it pop up on Tubi! I watched both seasons of Feud on Hulu, and season 2 was Feud: Bette and Joan. The actual movie wasnโ€™t streaming free anywhere when I watched that months ago, and was glad I was finally able to see the source of all the fuss!

Iโ€™ve had this in my queues for a lonnng time now, but didnโ€™t know about Tennant! I think it just got bumped to the top!

Do i only get to pick one - I forgot Suspiria because I love the argento version and actually really like the Luca Gaudagnino version with Dakota Johnson as a redhead, too

Oddly enough, you had me at "Dakota Johnson as a redhead," for some reason...

Day 6: A scary movie that is a remake

The original is a classic and the better of the two but this one isnโ€™t bad. I think this was the first film I saw Vince Vaughn in and then he did comedies.

Psycho (1998)

Does a 3rd adaptation of a book count as a remake? I Am Legend (2007) starring Will Smith was based on the Richard Matheson novel by the same name, as were The Last Man on Earth (1964) starring Vincent Price and The Omega Man (1971) starring Charlton Heston. I love them all, TBH, but my answer for โ€œremakeโ€ is I Am Legend (2007).
This is my favorite Will Smith film.

Day 7: A scary movie that you laughed at.

So when the bodies start tumbling out of the walls โ€ฆ I couldnโ€™t help myself โ€ฆ but I laugh at a lot of horror โ€ฆ โ€ฆ I may not be ok

Day 7: A scary movie that you laughed at.

Freddy Vs Jason

Most of the horror movies I laughed hard at have already been mentioned (Army Of Darkness, Shawn Of The Dead, etc). However, there is one particular scene in this that had me cracking up because of how exaggerated the actressโ€™s delivery was and is then proceeded by a typical Freddy Kruger one-liner.

So for context, the movie is retelling how Jason drowned as a child within a dream - Freddyโ€™s realm. Of course, for anyone whoโ€™s seen any Friday The 13th movie, the story goes that he drowned because the camp counselors were having sex and not watching the kids which is how he drowned. So one of the main characters is dreaming this, sees all the counselors banging each other, and tries to warn them that a boy is drowning. She then says the following line super-exaggerated: โ€œArenโ€™t you coming?โ€ Then this happens:

Itโ€™s so juvenile I canโ€™t help but laugh. ๐Ÿคฃ

Young Frankenstein

Ok, maybe not a scary movie, but still. Possibly the greatest film? Teri Garr just hams it up, Wilder is superb, Feldman almost steals the show... Everyone just excels.
"Blรผcher"
Using some of the old movie sets too for authenticity.
I use so many lines from this in day to day speech.
Genius, off the scale
Scariness, not much
"Would you like a roll in ze hay?"
