Trump is acting like a bad parody of a Tourette's victim, except for not having the excuse of actually having Tourette's. His mind is truly gone. At this point, he reminds me of some scenes in the Colleen McCullough novel The Grass Crown, wherein Gaius Marius (who at least was a war hero and not a draft dodger), the old leader of his long-established faction, is deranged, has had two strokes, was driven into exile (not an excuse that Trump has), and is giddy about the prospect of a bloodthirsty revenge, with a band of violent followers ready to carry out his horrific plans. The moment in the novel when Marius orders an outright bloodbath would be enough to make anyone shudder, with his private army of heavily armed retainers butchering people left and right. Trump currently reminds me of that version of Marius, minus any redeeming virtues that Marius might have had.
There is also a scene where Quintus Sertorius, Marius's own cousin and a war hero, basically abandons his camp and his cause and is deeply alarmed about his cousin's mental derangement. He even observes the negative influence of Marius over the various Marian deputies/lieutenants, much like Trump's over his own henchmen. There is a sense of how primitive, primal, feral, even simian (that is the exact word used at one point in the novel) Marius himself and his adherents became, much to Sertorius's alarm. Given the strange behavior exhibited, one would almost expect violence to break out at his behest, win or lose, as soon as something is done that serves as a trigger/catalyst, a deus ex machina event that would instigate such mayhem. The parallels between the events of this, Rome's first civil war between the Marius and Sulla factions, and our current situation are truly disturbing, especially to a history buff like me.

Speaking of Treason, how about whoever on Joe's admin leaking the Israeli plans to attack Iran?
If they know of such a plan, they should leak it to Iran. Best way to make sure the attack doesn't happen. The world cannot afford any war in which Iran is a combatant.
