Help with story

Hi I'm looking for a story where the plot is about a husband overheard the wife confessing during Truth or dare with friends about cheating on husband one weekend a long time ago. He then goes into shock and disappears for years until the find him a shell of a man then disappears again. Any help would be great.

The Price of Truth

David hadn't meant to eavesdrop that night. He'd come home early from his business trip, looking forward to surprising Sarah, only to find their house alive with laughter and voices – her monthly game night with friends. He'd stood in the darkened hallway, smiling at first, about to announce himself, when the fateful question came:

"Truth or dare, Sarah?"

"Truth," his wife's voice, slightly slurred from wine.

"Okay, what's your biggest secret? Something you've never told anyone – not even David."

There was a pause, followed by nervous giggling. "Oh god, I shouldn't... but okay. Remember that weekend I said I was at my sister's, about seven years ago? When David and I were struggling?"

David's hand froze on the doorknob.

"I was actually with James from work. It was just that one weekend, and David was so distant back then, working those horrible hours at the firm, and James just... listened."

“We had an amazing weekend, I never came that often with David, James’s tongue.. I felt like I was in heaven.”

The words hit David like physical blows. The room spun. He backed away silently, grabbed his keys, and walked out – leaving his briefcase, his wallet, everything except what he was wearing.

Sarah would later tell the police she had no idea why her husband vanished that night. The investigation went nowhere. Some suggested foul play, others a mental breakdown. Only David knew the truth – that he'd driven until his car ran out of gas, then kept walking, eventually finding himself in a small coastal town three states away.
