yes, he took it down, but not before boasting 'it's all true' and he could 'post another tomorrow because of free speech', and then getting taken behind the bike-sheds by speaker johnson.

A censure was introduced, and johnson said he spoke with higgins who then went to think and pray about it. He says he'd been approached by other congressional members, so he took down the post. higgins says he regretted posting it but that it was aimed at 'Haitian gangs'. Johnson made all the expected excuses for the man, calling him a dear friend and a gentleman.

“It’s all true,” Higgins said, according to the news organization. “I can put up another controversial post tomorrow if you want me to. I mean, we do have freedom of speech. I’ll say what I want.”

The Congressional Black Caucus on Wednesday condemned his comments and introduced a resolution to censure Higgins.

“Clay Higgins is a dear friend of mine and a colleague from Louisiana and a very frank and outspoken person. He’s also a very principled man. I think - I didn’t even see it – but he tweeted something today about Haitians. And he was approached on the floor by colleagues who said that was offensive,” Johnson told reporters. “I just talked to him about it, he said he went to the back and he prayed about it and he regretted it. And he pulled the post down. That’s what you want a gentleman to do.

What Speaker Johnson meant: “Congressman Higgins is a dumb-fuck racist, but we’re from Louisiana so what did you expect?”

It was absolutely a disgusting post.

And nothing about it is helpful. It doesn't call attention to problems, it devalues immigrants to make them the problem. Immigrants who came here, mostly in 2018, are in Springfield to work jobs for businesses who need them.

The campaign of Derrick Anderson, a former Army Green Beret who is running in a competitive race for an open seat in Virginia’s Seventh District, has posted footage of him posing with a woman and her three daughters in what looks like a photo that might be used for an annual holiday card. In another scene filmed for potential use in a campaign ad, Mr. Anderson is seated around the dining room table with the same woman and three girls, chatting and smiling.

But the people are not relatives. They are the wife and children of a longtime friend. Mr. Anderson, who announced this month that he was engaged, does not have any children of his own. His campaign website says he lives with his dog and does not display any of the photos.
