The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

My dad, a professional painter, said the same. I do not go cheap.
So that’s interesting. I like to do a lot of things myself, including painting, but I hate painting.

I always just got shit from Home Depot or Lowe’s. I know there are high end paints like Benjamin Moore and stuff, but I didn’t think it was worth spending any extra money on it…

ya learned something every day on this thread…

Good Morning! Coffee was not set...ooops. Being in a hurry, I poured prematurely and now am drinking Strong Coffee... S'ok, though. I was out late last night and probably need it.

They are going to be going to an escape room next weekend in Punta and want us to go. They will put kids in one and us adults in another. Not sure I want to go be in a small room with a bunch of adults and can't get out. Sounds like a scary movie. Does anyone know how big these rooms are? Plus it's over an hour drive at night. I've still have 3 no's to go before my yes. My kid wants to go so I probably will anyways. They have miraculously found extra seats in the caravan not letting me say no to driving. Sneaky People.
Escape rooms are ok. Not good if your claustrophobic or don’t like people.

But if you get a good creative problem, solver on your team, they can be really fun! If you can, you should try it out.

I did some death spraying on the aphids that attacked my garlic chives and spring onions. I mixed a bit of Dawn with water in a spray bottle. Every time I spray, I'm yelling, "Die, you little bastards!"

I think it's working...
Samsies.

I also yell, cuss and swear at poison ivy. “Take that, you fucks!”

It’s very gratifying to see the withered vines a few days later….

Morning peoples.

Fucking Friday… And it was only a four-day week. Tuesday was literally the only day where I had a little bit of time between meetings. All the rest are literally all the way through.

I blocked out my calendar for today to make it look like I’m busy, but it’s so I can just get shit done.

Enuf Bitching about corporate Zombieland…

If I can manage some time this weekend. I’d like some range therapy. Or maybe build some new trails. Bow season actually starts in a few weeks so I’d really like to have a few more trails built if I can. Most pressing is rip rapping two creek walls. I have to get that done before it gets too cold to be in the creek.

So much to do! So little time (and money!)

Going to be much cooler than next week or so here in New Jersey. Highs in the 60s and even in the 50s.

Bmi is just a number..... but weight makes sick people sicker. So there is a definition for the term morbid obesity (in my world). Morbid obesity is a BMI greater than 40 or greater than 35 with a weight related comorbid conditions. So if your weight makes your chronic illness worse that's a comorbid condition. In the Medicare world, certain diagnosis have a factor applied that is money. The more money you have to take care of people the better you are. So we want our doctors to call it out. My BMI will not be around 30 (still obese) at my goal weight. Because the experts want you to be 10% above lean muscle mass, which is 200 lb for my 5'8 frame. So they can suck it, my goal is 200 lb
I agree with you Misk. Actual trainers typically avoid the BMI charts and focus on ones actual percent body fat. Your body fat can fluctuate but the discussion seems to be shifting to metabolic health. It's gonna be hard to find doctors who understand that and it's relationship to nutrition. I've been on a plateau for months and I'm thinking maybe that's just where i "are". (y) (y)

Dad would swear by Sherwin Williams. I just go for the high end of a brand especially if it’s for outdoor application.

that's a lot of To Do for one, little weekend :LOL:
I hate it when real life interferes with my trolling on Lit. Anyways, good morning everyone. Sorry for my prolonged absence. I hope everyone is well and your coffee is strong this morning.
welcome back BSK. nice to see you again

Not cabinets, but walls. If you're painting the cabinets, it will degloss the surface and it's easier than sanding the whole thing, especially if they're dirty. You may have some spot sanding when you're done, or a light sanding of the entire surface. Use a very good primer. I like Zinzer Cover-Stain. Paint is one thing where you definitely get what you pay for.
Yeah.... 8 get good paint... you can either spend on good paint or spend 4 weeks putting on 5 coats

Well @Missk_2022 today on the hill it was 80 degrees and nae midges. Just a bit too hot for me and the dogs but simply gorgeous! I still managed to get up the hill though and the dogs were dowsed in the burns!
