ASVAB now there's something i haven't heard for 40 years. Are they still administering that to high schools?
 
I meant to say that after the picnic I went to today I returned home with a touch of heat exhaustion, even though it was indoors.
Mrs & I are fine after we got home in the AC and fans. It got to be 109°F and we got no storm's even though it was forecasted.

In other news, I foud an old school pizzeria in town near the job. I had forgotten that place. I ordered my coworker pizza for his b-day, and it was damned fine midday dining. A good time was had by all.

Happy Thursday!!! ACH pay showed up last night just after 11 so the bills are paid already. Payday is tomorrow. This is some banking thing that makes sense to the big banks but not to Real 'Murrikans. Still a couple of more sips on the ol' coffee.


My phone wouldn't charge in the old truck, so I got a new charger gizmo for the lighter and it works fine now. The phone died when I drove it home early this month, so that won't be an issue going back. And the weather says that it breaks tonight and will be 10-15 cooler tomorrow, so the 2/70 a/c will work better.


Looking forward to 4 days off, and to seeing poodles and the big dogs and shooting a gun or 3.

YaY! for the bills being paid. Always a nice thing. I struggled with that over summer but was still trying to play catch up over all the new bills piled on from the ex. Also heard from him yesterday, but it was most likely his gf. Supposed to start getting help next month. My phone has to stay on a charger. I need to see Verizon about that.

I haven't went shooting in too long. I need to go out. Our small town has grown and all my spots are turning into developments. I need to see if there are still passes out to my favorite hunting campground where I like to fish. When I planned on doing it was when my card was hacked and have been so busy with school I forgot to call.

Here is the spot. Nobody around for the weekend except the occasional hunter heading back to camp.

Mine is the out-the-back-door type when I'm Out West. We also have a pile of crap which makes an adequate backstop. That short range is at the edge of the horse pasture, and it's short, but at that range (the 1000-inch line), the goal is to make only one hole.


I have some function firing to do with my 10mm.

Ya, I can't out my back door. I can shoot my compound bow though out back. Just doesn't have the same satisfaction.

I can do that too, but Jerry Garcia would see me. He lives in the house behind me. He wouldn't say anything though. That's his nickname btw. Looked for houses with land, but can't do it. Maybe one day. I prolly will be too old to try and walk it at that point.

The landlady's original piece of dirt has dirt that I haven't seen. I may wander down there one winter, perhaps to cut undergrowth and just to lay eyes on it. It'll be winter so there be no snakes and bugs and so I can see if anything thinks it wants to try to eat me.

That sounds like fun! I do that here out at the B-range, but we have to watch out for snakes. I usually wear my boots in case we walk up on one. Sometimes we gator search, but there are so many out there you don't have to go too far to see them. I miss being outside all the time :( There are lots of wild hog out there too. They are more annoying than anything.
