50 this morning. Cold front.

We're in the 50s at night.

This is true, and that is why they have electric back-up "strip" heat. It shows on the t-stat as "emergency heat." That means that your electric meter is in danger of spinning so fast that it'll come off the house and go into orbit.


That may be a bit over-dramatized, but you get the picture.

I just got a visual of my heat pump rising from the ground and rocketing into space!

Im a few pages behind I think. Up early to drive to Philly for the day. Looking forward to the people and meetings there but not the commute.

Luckily the 4H fair and tractor pulls are tonite, and I’ll meet my wife there. It’s only an hour from Philly and 30 minutes south of us so it’s actually good logistically. Wife will catch a ride with some friends and I’ll bring her home.

Eat some fun fair food for dinner.

That sounds like fun, W! Our fair starts Aug 30. I'm trying to decide if I want to go.

If we are going there, I prefer to do that much more often than 3 moths. It's relaxing, I'd probably do that every day. Poor poor guy when that chance finally happens. I already know the flouriest I will use to send flowers to his family..

Good morning Wat. I considered selling but the cost of houses, even smaller ones, were out of my range. So, I have decided to get rid of clutter. Maybe next year I will reassess my situation.

I haven't even considered that yet. I do have a lot of stuff to go through and get rid of. Also, I would be very reluctant to leave my neighborhood. We take care of each other here.

Good morning all. I just missed Lilli.

The cool weather is going east slowly. It was in the 40s this morning.

I did 2 miles yesterday unlike the 12 OM does. The knees don’t hold up as they used to.

On cup # 2. 2 massages today, one by my GF and the other by a therapeutic masseuse which my back is in need of.

This morning there was a fire at a mulching facility and its smoke is driving folks down wind. Fortunately I am east of it and the winds are blowing from the north west.

Please be careful if the wind shifts. You do not want to be breathing that stuff in!

This is good advice! I'm fairly particular and also have trust issues. I could never just have a stranger here.

I know I sound bossy, but I say what I say based on experience and not stuff I picked up in my reading. And I like you and don't want to see/hear about problems that came your way from something 100% avoidable. This is why you introduce new chickens to the flock at night.

We do have a gas furnace. The heat pump is over 10 years old. AFAIK it's still working fine. Should I have it checked?

Find a reputable HVAC contractor in your area and see about a service contract. If it dies, you can replace it was an a/c. It'll be cheaper. But ride that pony over the finish line. If it does die in winter, you'll still be toasty warm. You have a Cadillac system.

I generally agree but there are times. Recently some neighbors thought it was great to have fireworks going off all over the place. I snapped and went out to the street and gave them the old drill sergeant voice. (I wasn't one but was recruited to give commands for large formations). I forget what I said but it worked.

I have a very soft voice, so that option is not available to me. My RBF is epic, however!

Happy Thursday!!! It's still cooler here, too. Maybe 80 today and below 60 now. It's a nice touch. Beginning to feel like some headway is being made at work. That's a nice touch. I also like the guys we have working there. Even the drywall goof tried, I reckon. Anyway, cup #1 is underway.

Probably no GF as her kitten is not holding down food 2 days after an operation. Sending my heart and well wishes to her.

Poor baby! All of you! Is she taking the kitten to the vet? When they're small and young, they don't have much on reserve. They can become dehydrated quite quickly.

I am exactly like that! The more angry I am, the lower and slower I talk. It's fairly effective! That and RBF!
