2024 Democratic National Convention Thread

But Trump us to old to be president.
Age is not a factor in determining whether one should be president. What is irrefutable is the need to learn from past mistakes. Trump's negativism, his attempted coup, and his civil and criminal convictions are not what we should aspire to as admirable traits in a candidate. We need to be reflective and thoughtful in our choices, not pointing to leaders and saying to children, "You, too, can be president, just like Trump!"

Like usual you're talking out of your ass, I live in MA probably the most progressive state in the Union. My vote doesn't mean much other than a vote for POTUS. Most congressional politicians run unopposed.

The people you voted for support the policies that would send women home to die. You will vote for Trump who would sign a national ban.

Again, fuck you traitor. Your rationalizations mean nothing in the face of your actions and beliefs.

I do support abortion on demand without apology, but no, that is not what happened here. What did happen is that a 12 year old rape victim had options ten years ago, and if it happened today, she wouldn't. Which is an abomination.
I didn't bring up the 12 year old. Not familiar with the case. The father should be in jail and medical attention should have been given to the 12 year old. I guess that makes me a traitor???

I'll give you pawl, I have no idea how that got there, cloud was my intended choice.

Rejoicing over abortion reflects poorly on the choices made by the democrat machine. It's sad that the once great democratic party chose moral turpitude as their guiding influence. Providing abortion on demand at the Democrat National Convention is over the top. Shameful!
Planned Parenthood is the sponsor. Not the DNC. I know that’s not going to get in your way, but just nice to clarify.

How many times does Trump have to say he does not support making abortion illegal or making abortion a federal mandate one way or the other.. You hear what you want to hear and you form conclusion based on misinformation.

Yeah cuz Trump never lies. Fucksakes.

Yes, Trump absolutely will sign a national ban if put on his desk. That you think he won't is just another sign of your traitorous idiocy.

The pop-up care aligns with Vice President Kamala Harris‘ adamant abortion platform. The Democratic nominee is in favor of legalizing abortion nationwide, previously calling it a “fundamental freedom” in an MSNBC interview.

Appears to me that the pop up care is closely aligned to the DNC.

How many times does Trump have to say he does not support making abortion illegal or making abortion a federal mandate one way or the other.

How many more times does he have to lie for you to realise that's a ridiculous question to ask, shit-for-brains? 🤣

No he won't, more inaccurate assumptions on your part. Most republicans believe that abortion is a necessary medical procedure albeit with controls and limits. Most Americans are common sense voters.

It helps to remember the other thing he always says about abortion: that overturning Roe was what everyone wanted, left and right alike. You know as well as I that's horseshit - regardless of your own opinions on Roe - and it more than impugns his veracity on anything he says about abortion. Besides, it just isn't plausible to say the guy who nominated three of the Coathanger Five "does not support making abortion illegal".

True but irrelevant.

Blah blah blah now tell me how the supreme court will respect precedent.

If you want to believe your stupid shit that's up to you but don't expect me to.

Trump WILL sign an abortion ban. Because his donors will tell him to. Blow smoke up your own skirt, traitor.

You can't handle reality. You've promoted this lie for so long you're conditioned to believe it. You people want it to be true but it's not, and you fear that without abortion to hang your hat your argument evaporates into a nothing burger. It's up to state politicians to represent their constituents.

So... did anyone notice that when they tuned into the Harris Walz rally in Wisconsin that it was also packed to the rafters?

She's filling two venues in two different states in one night.
Bet they don't have to plaxce ads looking to hire 'actors' either.

You're kidding, right? I know we don't agree on much of anything, but for all that, I didn't think you were that gullible.
I'm dead set against abortion being a Catholic and all, but that being said I certainly don't agree to wholesale banning of abortion, that just doesn't make sense.

Blah blah blah now tell me how the supreme court will respect precedent.
We've beaten that issue to death, read up on *stare decisis* and it's relationship to precedent and bad law.
If you want to believe your stupid shit that's up to you but don't expect me to.

SCOTUS will not allow Trump to sign any such ban, more assumptions based on misinformation.

But that's not what you said above. What you said was, "Most republicans believe that abortion is a necessary medical procedure albeit with controls and limits." That simply is not true, at least not of most elected Republicans. What the party rank-and-file think only matters to the extent that they vote accordingly, and the hardline anti-choicers have been in the GOP driver's seat for decades.

Joe Biden went out the way he's been throughout his entire "career" as a taxpayer funded parasite. "Poorly Informed, Vindictive, and Dishonest...," forced out in an internal Party coup and with his "swan song" speech relegated humiliatingly to midnight when nobody except the Party Faithful would be awake and listening. Reminiscent of the best in Stalinist show trials.

Biden has always been consistent. Consistently wrong, consistently poorly informed, consistently and deliberately dishonest, consistently nasty, and consistently vindictive. Obama told us that we should never underestimate Joe Biden's ability to fuck things up and as former Defense Secretary Robert Gates said of him, "I think he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” Something he proved all to capably during his so-called "Presidency". Last night, at the DNC, we saw Biden give the speech that will be seen as his swan song, and he was 100% consistent with his record: Dishonest, vindictive, nasty, and wrong. No surprises there, and there's no point in going into the details. The Demonrat sycophants' will deny, and those of us who are based in reality will agree.

The one good thing is that we can now bid farewell to one of the most dishonest, feckless, and incompetent (and let's make no bones about it, corrupt) politicians in the history of the USA. While technically he remains the President and still has a few months left in office, we all know he's not the one in charge, but at least he's finally out of the picture and good riddance, although we all know the only reason he's not the candidate is that Pelosi, Obama and Clinton stabbed in the back the candidate the Democratic Party members had voted for, despite knowing that he was a senile old fool with dementia.
I take it you are okay with Harris since you didn't mention her. So she has your vote? She has mine as well.
