The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Drinking morning coffee and trying to figure out what is happening here. :)
Welcome to the café, @Justapet50

We conduct ourselves a bit differently here than most of the rest of Lit.
Post #1 introduces the joint... and glancing back over the last 10-20 pages provides additional context.

To be clear:
1. No religion 2. No politics 3. No drama 4. This isn't a hook up thread. Take it to the DMs or go somewhere else. Everyone is welcome but we are protective of the vibe

If this feels like a good match, welcome...
If not then please see yourself to the door.

Thank you Rj_1954,
I have read Post#1 so I know the rules. :) I just found last posts chaotic and confusing.
And thanx for welcoming me. You are very kind.
Welcome, All the posts are as you describe. Just think walking into your average bar and the multitude of conversations going on at anyone time! I am an English Gentleman living in Scotland so imagine how I feel listening to a foreign language! 😂

Greetings and Welcome, Pet
(I always hear that in Brenda Blethyn's voice as DCI Vera Stanhope. Pet and flower and the like.)

Apologies for some of the chaos earlier. We do roll out the standard greeting for newcomers. We ask the same of everyone, but at times there's a bit of mess. Not everyone follows the guidelines for this thread. The Ignore button is a great tool, but it can be confusing and feel like mixed messages to a first-time visitor when this happens. 🤞 it's short-lived.

Good morning all. One reason I come here I feel safe about venting (not politics or religion): This morning I learned social security was hacked, my personal information is on the black web, and it’s going to rain all weekend. So I am changing passwords on everything. My late wife’s information was also affected and I have to deal with that too.
Thanks for telling us this B2! I hadn't heard this but I haven't watched any news today. I'm very glad I put a freeze on both my husband's and my accounts years ago!

My bank is really good at catching them and stopping them before too much gets taken. But Christmas! I'd be so mad! They told me to try and use my card with a person. Never a slide or insert devise and it should help stop it. Gas station pump is where I was hit last month.
I pretty much only get gas at Costco now. They have the tap pads on the pumps so you don't have to slide your card into a slot. I always try to wiggle the machine t I see if anything feels wonky every time I have to slide a card.

I think can be taught to most.. there are relatively few that don't have it because they are to far in the other side of the brain..... I think what can't be taught is intuition. I have great intuition.

I would have times when I would be at the desk charting or eating lunch and I would get a thought in my head "go check on room 5" and every single time there would be an issue. That little voice or uncomfortable feeling in my belly never steered me wrong.... or some little tiny thing would be different and I would have an inkling of a problem. I would call a doc and he would blow me off...the next am I would find out the patient had a bigger problem and was transferred to icu.....
You're quite right! That intuition is borne partly of experience, partly of education, and partly of innate ability. It's difficult to teach others to listen to that small still voice. I think it must be grown.
