The spending package passed, and Harris went on to cast the tie-breaking vote on the Democrats’ dubiously named Inflation Reduction Act the following year. She broke a tie in the upper chamber to pass the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan in March 2021.

Bottom line, Harris absolutely owns the inflationary prices the American people are experiencing today.

there's one tiny nit, for me, and that's when I see the Harris/Walz banner at rallies I feel they should have gone up one size in the font for Walz's name. He's bringing a power pack of joy to the already very happy Harris fans and that one-size up in the font would reflect that better... he's a solid part of her ticket, not an afterthought.

Wednesday: at their rally in Detroit with over 15,000 attendees, pro-Palestinian protesters continually disrupted KH/s speech:

As Harris spoke, a group of protesters interrupted the vice president about halfway through her remarks: "Kamala, Kamala, you can’t hide! We won’t vote for genocide,” they shouted.

Harris initially responded: “I’m here because I believe in democracy. I believe everyone’s voice matters. But I’m speaking now. I am speaking now." But the interruptions continued as Harris tried to discuss the ramifications of a second Trump presidency.

I understand the frustrations on both sides, but I think KH nails it here when she says this:

"You know what? If you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I'm speaking," Harris said with a long stare, drawing loud cheers from supporters in the crowd before chants of, "Not going back!"

It seems Comrade Rightguide still isn't quite clear about the American system of government.

Hell, he is still trying to figure out all 57 states!

He appears knows a bit about the original 50 (although he's hinted that Idaho may secede), it seems, and he's criticized President Biden for the riots in the state of England, for the war in the state of Ukraine, and for the conflict Biden is responsible for in the state of Gaza.

President Biden is to blame for the financial turmoil in the state of Japan, and for conflict between China and the state of Taiwan.

Oh yeah and the state of American Virgin Islands.

That's still only 56 states.

I suspect he's not clear if convicted felon Donald J Trump ever finalized the trade of Puerto Rico for Greenland, and has no clue what the other three states may be.

Former President Donald Trump repeated a false claim that some people, namely governors, favored killing babies after they are born.

During his press conference at Mar-A-Lago on Thursday, Trump answered a question about abortion by citing a Virginia House Bill that loosened restrictions on late-term abortions but raised questions about abortion “up until the moment of birth,” even while a woman was in active labor.

In a 2019 interview, former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) tried to explain that if a woman was in labor, the infant “would be delivered.” It became complicated for Northam when he further tried to explain that if an infant — which cannot be aborted, since it has been born — was born with a health issue that made it incompatible with life: “The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

But many on the right, including Trump, wrongfully twisted this message as “Democrats want to allow babies to be killed after birth.” And according to Trump’s claim, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) — Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate — agreed with this:

And you know, when you think about the radical, the Democrats are really the radical ones in this because they’re allowed to do abortion on the eighth and ninth month and even after birth. If you look at your new governor from Minnesota, he’s talking about, he’s like the governor previous, the former governor. I don’t want to get him mixed up because Glenn is doing a good job and he’s leading our, he’s leading our whole campaign in Virginia. Glenn Youngkin. But previous to Glenn, the governor, he said, “The baby will be born. We will put the baby aside and we will decide with the mother what we’re going to do.”

In other words, “whether or not we’re going to kill the baby.” The Minnesota gentleman, this guy agrees with that. He is the most liberal — look, between her and him, there’s never been anything like this. There’s never been a combination. So I’ll use the word “progressive.” You know, they want to go progressive. They don’t like the word “liberal.” I like “liberal” better. I think it’s more appropriate because nobody knows what “progressive” means.

pro-Palestinian and pro-hamas are two very different things

whilst the Detroit protesters might feel their voices are being stifled, the pro-Palestinian group from Michigan (or was it Minnesota, one or the other) are far more interested in helping Harris get her message across, feeling they can work better with her towards a sustained ceasefire... they see hope. If trump gets in, hope is gone.

Kamala Harris is leading Donald Trump by the widest margin to date in the latest national poll by Marquette Law School.
In a head-to-head match-up, the vice president is the choice for president of 52% of registered voters, and former president Trump is the choice of 48% — not the first survey showing Harris with a four per cent lead.

However, among likely voters, that margin grows further, with Harris receiving 53% and Trump 47%. These results include voters who initially did not choose Harris or Trump but who were then asked whom they would vote for if they had to choose.

When the ballot question was expanded to include independent candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr, Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver, Green Party candidate Jill Stein, and independent candidate Cornel West, Harris still led Trump by six per cent — 47: 41% among registered voters.

Kennedy is supported by 9%, Oliver receives 1%, Stein is the choice of 2%, and West wins 1%, among these voters.
When the same question is put to likely voters, Harris gets her biggest lead so far — 8% — with support from 50% of those asked, compared to 42% for Trump. For the other candidates, the breakdown is Kennedy 6%, Oliver 1%, Stein 1%, and West 0%.
