Busy day on tap.

Not had cup one yet, but it’s percolating and smells good. Workout planned and then a swim.

Today looks like a carbon copy of yesterday, weather wise.

Busy week this week. But wife and I carved out a day in a few weeks for a nude beach day. Should be fun!

Hot, humid and storms all week long. Although uncomfortable it’s better than super cold and wintry weather.

I moved to FL from Pa. i could dress warm for clearing snow, working outside in the cold or hunting. In FL there is only so much you can take off! I have a fan that goes around the neck. There has been hot and humid weather up north, this year more than most. We take the puppy for a walk on the beach in the morning. The 90 degree gulf water cools him off!

I was 19K the 19D “enemies”. I was in 2/12 cav. It was weird being a tanker in a cav unit.

I was also in 1/68 AR.

The Cav had to trade its hoofs in for tracks, mech, and blades. Units are a mishmash of strange bedfellows in the modern military!

I was 152G (no longer around) but keep that under your hat. All I ever really wanted to be was 02T

Happy Monday to Betty and Grey. Slept decently. Old cat went back to bed. Young cats are done wrestling. Ob Cup #2 of proper-strength coffee. Pills ingested. Incense/Josh is burning for those who suffer needlessly. Got to finish loading the truck, reconnect the trailer, and then load it. Kitten and I will be on the road inside of 25 hours if all goes according to.


Take these papaes over to the new job.


Did I mention that the gravy was fucking killer? Had it over spinach leaves for supper last night. Way fewer carbs.

Good morning... I slept in. Sounds like a busy day..... when I make a good "gravy" I serve it over roasted cabbage. Because 1) i love roasted cabbage 2) it has a bounce to it that resembles noodles.....

Absolutely, I have no problem with the fact that other people have a different opinion and it would be great if we could just agree to disagree. In reality this rarely happens though.

I had to look both up.

Damn, Brother!! In all the years I was in the army, I was NEVER in a chopper. Even fuckin infantry and cav got around by chopper. Dumb ass tankers? Not a chance…

We are pretty good at agreeing to disagree and feeling respected and being respectful. That is why I love this thread so much.... and it is a safe place to talk to friends without feeling hunted.....

I’m curious about roasting of cabbage. I have steamed, stewed and fried cabbage but not roast it. Share a recipe?

All I do is cut it in half and then lay cut side down and slice in 1 inch or so ribbons. I try to keep as intact as possible. I lay on an oiled cookie sheet and put a little bit more on top sprinkle with salt and pepper and bake at 350° until brown and roast. I check at 15 min and judge from there. It looks sort of limp and brown on the edges when done.

After I take it out of the oven I grab what my serving in and put it in a bowl put the "gravy" on top and eat it like spaghetti..... I think it tastes good....

Another way to eat is steam and right at the end put a knob of butter and a splash of heavy cream with salt and pepper. It is how my mom fixes it and is delicious
