Sleep is proving elusive ATM so... catching up again

All I know about rugby is that I made the correct decision for myself in turning down the offer to play on the women's team at my college. One of the players caught a random game of coed touch football (American Football - touch in the other player substitutes for a tackle) behind my dormitory one day. After my third touchdown, I was approached and offered a spot on the team. That afternoon's game serving as my "tryout". After 11.5 years of soccer (football), I decided to pass. Rugby is far more brutal than football. I didn't relish several more years of getting beat up on the field.

Good morning or night by the way. Sounds like nearly all of you have had a productive Saturday. I spent mine working on a couple of new walking sticks with prep. Then off to our local Castle for the jousting weekend. I will post a little about that and some picks in due course.
Morning, Grey... hope your Sunday is off to a great start
Cuppa to start your day - hope it's not too strong. Left room for a bit more milk, if needed.

Yes, please, on the jousting pics. Have only seen jousting in movies. I don't trust Hollywood to be authentic. Entertaining but not always authentic.

*waves back* Hello there @Qky75 👋 How is your day so far? Wrapping up or Starting up?
@Missk_2022 sometimes you do have to let your guard down it’s just knowing when and not beating yourself up when you do and it does not go quite according to plan
I love the care we have in this little online community.

Good morning all, why is everyone going to bed? Or is that a bed question on a naughty website?
Morning. I think a lot of it is time zone related.
I'm normally asleep now - touch of insomnia tonight. It's almost 2am here. We have folks from all over the US plus several other countries. It's morning in the UK, for example.

How are you today?

Sorry you can’t sleep.

Yes rugby is a lot more brutal and thanks for the tea. Hope you aren’t insulted but I will add more milk.

I need to go through the jousting pictures and pic a few I can reduce so I can get them on l this thread. It is still very staged but it is good fun and they do gallop at each other and take a good whack!

I'm fine thanks. I realise the time difference, I was just teasing. I have family in PA and in FL, I have to be aware of the time zone when I ring them up or I get into trouble xx

One of these days I'll get it right. :ROFLMAO: Add as much milk as you'd like. I'm more of a plain black tea person so I usually just leave room in the cup and put a bit of milk out so folk can help themselves.
Looking forward to the jousting pics when you've got them ready. No rush, no pressure.

Very true. I have family an hour ahead and two behind. Organizing a family video call for holidays can be tricky.

@likes2watchU and anyone else who is interested these are just a few from yesterday taken on the phone. I have more on the big camera but need to go through them yet. If there are better ones I will put them up.

This is an annual event that draws a good audience. Yesterday started wet so it was fairly quiet. Today is a good forecast so it’s I’ll be busy and I will stay away.

It is a 14th century castle so pretty interesting if you are into that.

Stunning. Thank you for sharing.
Lovely reminder of how beautiful Scotland is.

And ignore! You lasted longer then most but the sexual overtures gave you away.

Yep. My grandma said hot coffee cooled her off...would drink it the hottest days... and no ice water on the farm... tepid water only. .Ai
I was in Air Force basic training in Tx in Sept. It was hot and there were guys passing out in the heat. Training was called off some days because of heat. Our DI told us to drink hot coffee, it would help with the heat.

Fresca is delicious. I went cold turkey on the diet pepsi..... the headache should be tomorrow....then Tuesday will be bye bye to sugar..... I am getting my life back in order
You could eat more carbohydrates. By that, I mean unprocessed vegetables/potatoes and fruits. That way you are taking in natural sugars, Fibre, vitamins and minerals whilst withdrawing from processed sugars. It's also food for the brain as the brain needs carbohydrates to work. 😘

I believe that's why us Brits drank tea in India to help with the heat, it raises internal heat, and reduces heat on the skin surface. I think. I'm probably wrong.

The landlady loved what I call her Poodle Extravaganzas. The Three Event ones seem to be er favorites, and she really like Dressage. Which I mispronounce on purpose. Of course. I have see a retro "castle" near Lexington KY and they do Renfaires there, not that I would go. They should have Large Poodle events but don't. You can spend the night there at $1,000 per. Yeah . . . no!!!

I was working on a project in the desert and it was 115 F. I didn't mind the heat too much because it was a "dry heat" or low humidity. Here in FL when it is in the 90s and the humidity is high the first thing I want to do when I go out is go back inside! An early morning walk on the beach is great and the water temp is now in the 90s but sill is enough to cool you down a bit.

Actually, I think you're right, or at least its 2nd cousin.

Happy Sunday!!! Slept okay. Sodded off last night without good wishes, and I am truly horrible for so doing. Cats are fed, I'm most of the way through cup #2, and I'm fixin' to hit the street for a walk.

This is a good little corner here, so let's make the most of it.
