I'm beginning to wonder about mandatory national/military service again. Fewer people hate/fear/foul themselves over what they know something about. The thought is still gelling so I'm not sure of details, but mandatory military service - 2 years - already has a script.

It's quite comprehensive in scope. I found a few things that are questionable, several subjects I need to think on a little more, and many beneficial suggestions. All in all what it does is start stripping the Federal government down to a governable size.

That is, I think, a forlorn fucking hope. Maybe, but I kinda doubt it. Sad as it is. The fed solution to containing gummint waste and overgrowth would be to form three more cabinet level departments and the to staff them with several hundred thousand more sit-on-their-ass employees.


As I said and I repeat, it would be nice if it were possible.
