Would you vote for them?
Would double haters vote for them?
Would moderate republican never trumpers vote for them?
Can two women win?

I put these up because Newsom is toxic in the rust belt - all those swing states.

I'm still in the camp that Biden should not step aside. However I'm not a dumbfuck coward who will stay home when it comes to voting so I'll vote for a potato chip before I'll vote for Trump.

Will people actually show up to vote if the ticket is changed? Will it motivate any of the youth, double haters or laissez faire voters?

Considering what happened to Bernie - all rally/no vote - this needs to be looked at. If we make the switch to win, can we still win if we switch?

The Deplorables have, thankfully, done more than enough to ensure the "potato chip" vote. Just like 2020, if their dictator loses, they will be to blame. 🙂

Would you vote for them?
Yes

Would double haters vote for them?
Some would, some wouldn't. It depends on how they respond to criticisms of the current Administration

In terms of whether people will vote on a changed ticket, I think it will get many people off the couch.

No problem.

Harris can plausibly run on the current administration’s success. I don’t know enough about Whitmer to form an opinion about her.

I think one issue you have with this ticket would be that many Democrats prefer Whitmer leading that ticket rather than Harris and might throw a hissy fit with this.

Never gonna happen. There was a poll asking people who should be the democrap nominee. Harris came in fourth.

i think the more conservative-leaning, 'religious' background and dare i say trending 'male-superiority' black male voters might hold back, preferring to see at least ONE male on the ticket. That voting bloc tends to be anti-abortion and disdainful of the me-too movement. They might be more persuaded to abstain from voting or even slide right over to the toxic felon trump rather than vote in TWO women.

i do not count the majority of black guys in with this bloc, especially younger ones, but it certainly exists.

Do you think you will do a write-in or not make any selection on the ballot for president?
A write in is the same as not voting. If Trump is still a viable candidate and I can get drunk enough and someone will drive me to the polls, I'll prolly vote for him. I want to see how that will play out. My blue state vote is mostly impotent but I trust in the system. :)

I think a Harris Whitmer ticket has the potential to change the dynamics of this election and improve the Democrats chances. First woman of color, first female duo, appeal to Midwest suburban women, etc. I also agree that Newsom would be a liability.

I hope the Democrats stick with Biden for the same reason many Dems are calling for him to step down. Gavin Newsom probably wants Joe to hang in there as well. If Harris-Whitmer were to win in November it could slam the door on his 2028 ambitions and leave him on the sidelines for the next 8 years.

Biden/Harris is the strongest ticket. It’s also who the Democrats already picked in the primary. Trying to change now will guarantee a Trump win, which is why are the conservatives are rubbing their hands with glee at the idea that Biden might be pressured into stepping down.

i 100% agree

which is why covid hitting the president right now is a really bad case scenario. it will embolden those calling for him to bow out and may well weaken him enough (in the face of those calls from people i have respect for such as Schiff) to make the call that he feels he cannot do the job. And, perhaps, he'll not be able to after this. It's bad for the party.

I’ve lost a lot of respect for Schiff over the past few days . I voted for him in the primary over Porter and Lee. I should have gone with Lee, but I was worried she was too old. 🙄

Then realistically whether Biden, Harris or Whitmer run it is irrelevant to you.

Happy drinking, may you outrun liver disease. 🍻

Looks like you've decided Biden is too far gone to actually be an effective pres. We all watched Reagan go thru it. I guess it just depends on which team they play for.

Liver is fine. Kidneys not so much. :)

I'll vote for any Democrats put up. I don't think we need to worry about the Rust Belt. Those states will go for Trump and the population there is swamped by the urban and coastal populations.

Harris and Whitmer have a stronger appeal to younger voters. Plus, with no old white male on the ticket, the condescension factor goes way down. There would be a better opportunity for collaborative management rather than top-down management.

Intelligent females are more pragmatic and compassionate than the vindictive males leading the MAGA Party. With sharper wits, these women could focus during the campaign on why it would be foolish to turn the nation over to Trump's cult.

I think they have a better chance of energizing the Democratic Party than the old warrior. Time for him to assume a new role and let the next generation step in.

Now is not the time to maintain the status quo.

Biden said the primary reason he would drop out would be a message from God and a secondary one would be health issues. The COVID diagnosis could be that God message. The last time he was down with this, it was 16 days of isolation. This is a disastrous time for him to be out of operation.
