Shot fired at Trump?

John Roberts and the entire conservative contingent of the United States Supreme Court made this "incredible" event possible. Take a bow, guys.

Let’s not forget the NRA - The National Rifle Assassination…er…Association.

🤬

The unnamed man told BBC that he was having a party outside the rally and was planning to walk up through a nearby field and listen to Trump when he started speaking. But as he was walking up, about five minutes into Trump’s speech, “We noticed a guy bear-crawling up the roof of the building beside us, 50 feet away from us.”

The man clearly had a rifle, the witness said, so he started trying to alert nearby cops and Secret Service agents who were stationed on the ground and on the roof of a barn.

“We’re pointing at the guy crawling up the roof... the police are down there running around on the ground. We’re like, ‘Hey man, there’s a guy on the roof with a rifle’... and the police were like, ‘Huh, right.’ They didn’t know what was going on.”

The man said his group kept trying to flag down law enforcement with little success.
“Next thing you know, I’m thinking to myself, ‘Why is Trump still speaking? Why have they not pulled him off the stage?’ I’m standing there pointing at [the gunman] for, you know, two or three minutes. The Secret Service is looking at us from the top of the barn. I’m pointing at the roof, just standing here like this.... Next thing you know, five shots came out.”

“Why aren’t there Secret Service on all the roofs?” he asked, seeming incredulous. “This is not a big place.”

Any standard hunting rifle could take a man down at that range, if the hunter knew what he was doing. My Turkish 1893 Model Mauser could do it, in fact it would be a better choice than the one "assault rifle" I own.

Aren't we always saying that we're not going to take people's hunting rifles away? Have we changed our opinions on that, or were we never honest about it before-hand.

He turned his head to look at his chart, and probably saved his skin doing so.

Scopes or not, you can’t allow for an unexpected move.
Fair point. But, you're supposed to aim center-of-mass when taking a shot, not for the head. Heads and brains move around a lot, hearts and lungs not so much.

Good for trump that most libs don't hunt I guess? 🤣

I don't know which we you refer to. i don't know how far away the guy was but my Winchester might have trouble at that range. I think there should be a limit on magazines and rate of fire. In PA, I had to have my shotgun plugged to limit it to 3 rounds for hunting season. I hate Trump, I wish he was never on this earth.

No need to go down the byways and alleyways of this subject, dragging the whole conversation into the long grass.

The USA is culturally obsessed with gun glamour and you only need to look at a random handful of movie posters to see it…….most will feature a firearm.

That’s fine if it’s how you like it, but allowing such piss easy access to weapons of war to any fucking fruit cake and basement dweller is plain negligent imo.

People got some explaining to do.

Any structure within range of a sniper and with a line of sight to the stage should have been secured. And bulletproof glass barriers should have been put up.

I mentioned earlier that the FBI has declared that America and the world are currently experiencing the highest threat environment in decades.

A failure all the way around from the Trump campaign, the Secret Service, and law enforcement.

So you've expanded your blame outside of Trump.

Neat 👍
