I made a med error my senior year and the nurse told me dont tell dont worry about it.....I went straight to the instructor confessed..told her my actions and begged for forgiveness.... she was the scariest teacher in the whole school..... she said if I didn't do what I did she would have kicked me out. I gave a whole pill instead of half.... looking back pretty low risk..... but fess up and deal.....

Exactly! If you hide a small error, what happens when you make a big one??

I always told each class on the first day of clinical to come to me immediately when (not if) they make a mistake and I would help them through it.

It ain't fruitcake. Fruitcake is best allowed to harden and then to be used inside the house as a doorstop or outside as paving bricks.


It's bread with fruit and chocolate, and it's pretty decent. I like it. Mom makes it, and the landlady hunted a recipe online which is a reliable equal to Mom's. We use apricots instead of dates.

Had a co-worker who had just moved back after years in the Caribbean. I looked up the recipe and made it on her first day. I'm sure it wasn't "just like home" but she appreciated the effort and there were no leftovers.

So kinda chill! I like this not working thing. I think I could get used to it. (And greylag, I agree, I could never just stop cold turkey and not do anything. I always need something to do. I’m like, a shark. Always moving - I can’t sit still.

The Scottish version of a fruit cake is the best I have made. I used to make the other fruitcake but now I use only dried fruits and nuts. Of course rum or if Scottish, Scotch.

My mom used to make fruitcake with that nasty candied fruit and peels. I hated it!

If I make it, there's dried fruits and nuts, along with spirits, in it!

Speaking of which, my new/old rifle that I was working on and had an issue with? Sorted that motherfucker right out, Wat did. The old op rod spring was broken into several pieces and was replaced. There was something wrong in the mechanism after reassembly. The new spring was removed after field stripping and the spring cavity in the op rod was investigated. Has to be done by braille. Damned if 3-4 little pieces of broken spring didn't fall out upon whacking the rod on a solid surface. Further investigation with a cleaning rod and a shot of carb cleaner and some compressed air, and some length checking with the new spring, and the tube was apparently clear. It was a lot easier to reassemble, and the bolt works properly now because the spring is no longer binding the system because of being over-compressed.

Impressive, Wat! I especially like the "whacking the rod on a solid surface" step!

I stupidly stacked some firewood earlier today before it got super hot, but I was soaked through.

Did some cleanup and pick up around the house and ran a couple of errands.

Now I’m poolside. It’s still hot as balls out, but time to enjoy!!
