Use a threaded pipe with a large enough ID. Inner diameter to hold it with end caps. Just make sure the solvent doesn't create combustible gases during the process or it will be like a pipe bomb. It maybe have to be accomplished in an open bath so the gases can escape during the process, with plenty of ventilation.

I plugged the barrel. Lots less solvent that way, too. I'll check on it later this morning. I do wonder how it's doing.

I sent off to the barrel company about a barrel for the old gun. They sent me a reply. It was polite, but fucking myself is in my future as for as expectations of them go. There is a shop up the road (MD) that can do all this shit, but I thought I'd get through this cleaning excersize and see if its necessary. If it is, then for a couple grand, they'll build me a match version with new parts and all of these filthy parts I have can become spares. So, it's a thought.

Honestly, it hurts less to be upbeat. There's nothing to fear, really. They've done damned near everything they can throw at me to me and I ain't dead yet. They have only not killed me, and if they try, I intend to make it a very shitty exchange rate for them.


I used to do work half a day at a time. Start to lunch, then start back to quittin'time. It helped. Find tasks to do and don't look at the clock. Mostly, remember to breathe. This isn't the rest of your life.


And I'm looking for a job? I should hustle up and write this book and see if I can pimp it out. Then attack the next book idea.

They are nasty. We aren’t too bad here unless you go down on the Merse. The Highlands and Islands can be awful in summer. It’s the bit the tourist brochures don’t tell you. “Beautiful Scotland where the midges will feed on you like wee pirhanas!”

About 6 years ago my LW and I visited Scotland in November but heard about tourists and the midges. We were happy to have toured this beautiful country in the fall.
