I cook pizza on the grill. We have a large cooking stone. Works really well.

That stone looks suspiciously like the cut-out for a double bowl sink from a granite countertop.


I have a similar stone as a heat sink in my oven.


It probably could use a bath.

My grandfather would tell me the old farmers would wear long sleeves with long undershirts . The idea being they’d sweat and and that would keep you cool, along with keeping the sun off you. That same grandfather couldn’t get off the farm fast enough and moved to the beach!. He was also known to be quoted: “ Air conditioning is the greatest invention ever!”

Now that's a damn fine idea. I brushed up on mah Red Neck when I was Out West. Painlessly, but it's been two many decades to keep rolling dice.

I salvaged a couple of cut-outs from jobs, and some slate pieces from old mantels. I'm giving that shit away with three hands if I'm not using it because I'm not moving it and damn few people see the value in it.

My baby has covid (it’s not a bad case at all) so we can’t do our breakfast, listen to music and drive thing. But we’ll do something this week.

Yesterday was busy.

• Got my tractor tire back on and moved a bunch of tree bark and scraps from log splitting onto the backstop on my gun range.
• Raked the wood chips in the farm yard.
• Stacked 1.5 cords of wood w my wife.
• planted cosmos and zinnia all over (my wife calls me the mad sower <I like to sow my seed!>)
• helped my buddy who has MS do some yard work. (Saw his parents too)
•jumped in the pool (nekkid of course)
• Then chilled by the fire…

I have had skin cancers (basal cell) so I am always using SPF 50 or more on bare skin like my face and ears but also cover up with clothing. A hat is also important. Now I buy UPF clothing and hats. They are cool in the summer and can retain heat in the cool evenings. UPF clothing is a wonderful invention.
