being bald, I have learned the hard way. Always wear a hat (unless it’s just five minutes or so.) I have a small precancerous spot on my head so I gotta be careful. Boonie hat or baseball cap at all other times.

Glad you’re figuring this rifle out and getting it cleaned properly. My friend is coming out from western PA next week and he is being his M1A, his P38, Luger and an old ww2 era makarov.

Now I’m thinking I should break out my Garand… but I better field strip it first and clean it.

Probably. This rifle was sold as "function fired." They put a whole 2 rounds through it. Based on what I found on youTube a couple of days ago, the 4-piece op rod spring should have all but precluded proper cycling. The new ones are supposed to be 20.25", and the one I bought seems to be 20 and one sixteenth. It'll work, but it's the little shit like that which will make them frustrating.I'm looking forward to building a serious shooter at some point.

This includes tetanus which some of you REALLY need. I'm looking at you, W, G, and Wat, especially! Working in/around dirt and on farming equipment can increase your risk.

Our cat is like that. He loves the shower after we use it. He loves getting wet.

He’s a weirdo. He also eats cashews, asparagus, asparagus plants, forsythia flowers, and of course mice and bugs.

Update: 4th date was dinner at my favorite place. She insisted! Afterwards, we went to her place and began to make out like teenagers. (No hickies, though!). A kiss on her bare shoulder set her on fire, and she straddled me. I got her top off, and her breasts (natural) were amazing for a woman in her 60s. You can guess the rest!

NJ is a friggin deer paradise. They have no reason to go out west! Too much development, not enuf predators. A day doesn’t go by that I don’t see deer.

I lease our farm/woodlands out to our local rec club for hunting. Only a few people hunt it and they’re good. But once hunting Season begins, they fade into nowhere seemingly….

That is same here. Even in the city the deer come. They have protection and lots of local gardens as well as farmers corn. We have had to have a cull the herd to control them.

I, too, have a Trapdoor hanger, mostly because I've seen better rifling in a piece of PVC drain line.


I learned this last pass through Out West that deer hide better than we know. Prey know that they're prey and they have programming to assist with hiding and making themselves scarce. They also seem to be the right color for tall grass.
