The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I can be hypnotized, but please don't. The last time I was a chicken...
OMG, RJ. Me too.

Busy now, but remind me to tell the story. One of the CRAZIEST experiences in my life! Not a great one eother.

I’ve been sticking around and not getting enough done this morning, so I’m putting the phone away for a little bit and running some errands and doing stuff around the house in the farm.

It Ain’t Half Hot Mum about National Service. Silly British stuff, both of them but mindless entertainment and amusing. It was a time when there were good comedies unlike now.
I love English comedy.....Mrs bucket and the 9ne that was set in a dept store. I qm having word finding problems this am...and Mrs browns boys...when she waxed at home.... pee before you watch it.... it is FUNNY

I'll remember, my safe word is KFC

Finally caught up. The knife issue is sorted but I'll still toss my set in the ring for what it's worth.

Paradox of Choice when looking for a knife set. So I "outsourced" mine years ago. Got lucky w/ a relative who worked as a chef/cook for years.

My needs were a basic set for keeping me fed and cooking for others. Nothing fancy - for me. We also had
a $30 limit that year (2008).

It remains my knife set to this day. While I know my way around the kitchen, I'm not a techie about knives, gadget, and appliances. But as a basic set of everyday knives, I think they fit the bill.

You can find this same set for @ $50-80 today, and there have been several other sets by this brand in the intervening years.

Only fools and horses, and Open All Hours added to my list. Anything with David Jason and Ronnie Barker
But yes Mrs Brown's Boys has me rolling on the floor.

Yikes.

When I mentioned Henkel and Wüsthof, they are super high end. I think you can get a Henkel set that are lower grade but still good at most places or am online. Cutco is a good brand too. Maybe too good.

be careful miss k!!
When we were stationed in Germany, we picked up a block with Wusthof knives. It didn’t have the steak knives along the bottom, so next trip to PX, we grabbed some black handled steak knives. They were Henkles!😂. So we have a mismatched set, but they’ve lasted and we’ve had them for almost 30yrs.

The only change I’ve made is the large Chef’s knife has been replaced with a smaller 10” Santoku Japanese knife with the folded forging. It’s just easier for small jobs. The Big Chef comes out when needed!

The Mid Morning Z…(I slept in today….shhhhh)

Are You Being Served. It always ended or close to the end with the Old guy, Young Mr. Grace, with some kind of eye candy on his arm. That was a funny show!
