The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

FREEEEEDOOOOOOMMMM!

(I just yelled at out in the office, because I am all by myself with no one else here today….)

I declined to yell, but yes. I'm sitting here loading this case of M2 ball that was delivered yesterday into these M1 clips that I've been collecting. It's tedium. I wonder how they did it during the war. Musta had a machine.

Trust me… there is more downtime than you wanna know about in the army!

But yeah, in a combat sitch, that’d be a bear to reload those bastards.

Now my curiosity is piqued and I’ll haveta check my m1 to see if it’s 7.62x51 or 30-06.

EDIT: it was made by Beretta, but for the Danish army. There’s a Danish crown stamp on the receiver. It’s technically the Danish Gavehr M/50.

It takes Garand clips???

It takes Garand clips???

Likely it's an aught six.

I remember when the Danish M1s came home.

This POS I bought a couple months ago came home from Ethiopia. It lacks a bit in the care and feeding department, kind of like adopting an animal from a shelter. But it is all there. I went down a bore snake (never used one before) and pulled it through. It emerged skeevy. The vendor could have done a better job cleaning it by dousing it with half a can of carb cleaner.

I have every reason to believe it’s 30-06 while looking at that video and another source I saw online. I have plenty of clips (that go “ping!”) and M2 ball ammunition, so maybe when my friend comes out from Pittsburgh, I’ll give this thing a trial run.

@likes2watchU I said “ball.” Heh heh.

They are pleasant to shoot considering that they're aught sixes. The semi-auto action helps with recoil. I seem to be becoming more impervious to recoil as I get older, so I can do M1. Speaking of, I have two thirds of a 30-cal can on clips and ready to store. Or use, when time comes.
