I used to think that about footie, because it was all men's footie. I watched a few chatty vids with England women players during lockdown and it changed my opinion. I'm an Arsenal girl now and still in love with Leah Williamson.

I love football but to be honest prefer watching ladies international stuff. Not for the obvious reasons but because it’s just better and more honest. No pissing about or play acting. Get up and get on with it….brilliant!

It’s pissing down, it’s cold, I have had the heating on. It’s bloody June for gods sake. I don’t want it tropical but something just warm and dry would be good.

Yeah I grew up in an area where if you didn't pledge allegiance to one of the big local teams (Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough at a push) then there was something wrong with you and that pushed my "outsider" mentality so I just rejected it all out of principle.

I got into rugby union for a few years but stupid ex ruined that for me.

I like the Olympics and Wimbledon but don't have favourites or anything.

I'm also not sporty in the slightest - I have no coordination and am very clumsy so I just could never really connect with it

Not me. Born on the Wirral and family all Red I was on the Kop at 8. Always followed Liverpool and had a season ticket. I have never been above average except in martial arts where I became an instructor but now retired.

I enjoy most sport apart from golf (yawns and switches off)

The difference with the women's game is that the appeal goes further than the touchline. Arsenal have been so clever to have promoted the off-pitch activities: girls chatting or simply larking around in training. When Miedema and Mead were recovering from ACL injuries, they did little videos to plot their progress, so it made me as a supporter feel involved.

I get that pressure thing to align yourself with a team - my cousins have a Whatsapp group where they yap bollocks to each other about mens footie. It repelled me from the game as much as the snarky attitude in the terraces. Nah.

I am sporty so I suppose I have a different outlook. I love athletics on tv - who didn't fancy Jessica Ennis?!

I grew up in Leeds, 10 mins from Elland Road....so I'm saying no more. And no mocking please.....

Used to play football and tennis..... don't really watch must sport at all these days.

I’m repelled from football in the main. Living here, there are two huge teams and you have to be aligned with one of them or you get the strangest looks. It’s not so much the antics on the pitch that turn me off, it’s the off pitch behaviour from ‘fans’.

I will give credit to the women’s game. It has restored a little faith in the sporting nature of the game but not enough to sign up and watch the matches.

Like Rosie said: I’ve watched rugby and while that has a lot going on, I still get this sense of that I’ve watched something that I’m not fully invested in.

A bit like cycling... although it's a lot more 'open' as a sport with a big fan connection, but the Women's World Champion, the fabulous Lotte Kopecky is very good at interacting and there was a recent video from the Tour of Britain where she signed a jersey for a young girl, she can be seen asking how to spell the name as she signed... the girl was just so shocked and then just hugged Lotte as she held the jersey tight to her. Lotte also directed someone to give her podium flowers to another young fan at an earlier stage. It's little things like that and those girls will want to be cyclists now, want to be Lotte.

I was never sporty, being ill quite young and never having the "manly" body for it. I was forced to do rugby and loathed it. Never got the whole tribal thing. I love cycling, i have a 'team' but i'll cheer for them all (except one or two and then i'll politely clap). I've stood by the roadside to watch le Tour with thousands of others, from all over the world and there's no trouble as it's more about the spectacle. I know there are rivalries with a few countries, but on the road, it's all forgotten, unless there is a beer tent nearby.
