Endless Ends

I surmise that there are people in the world who cannot stand or tolerate perfection, and therefore must cast their own imperfections on lesser imitations . . . ☹️
Someone sent me this quote earlier and, oddly, it someone fits.

"Often people fight hardest of all to preserve a delusion. And they will frequently persecute those who challenge that delusion.”

Which happens when you despair of the desecration.

(Seriously, people are scary. 😯)

-It's raining!!!
-Why am I being inundated with political emails?
-Yale has free courses!

That first one is particularly important as it gives me an excuse to not do my planned yard work.

I grew up in a dairy farm. When cows graze the will eat anything. Almost every cow has a little metal in their stomachs. We used to put a magnet in each cow. That way it collects at one spot and doesn’t cause any harm.
That's what I was reading.

Specialized information. 🤷‍♀️

And I have no memory of what circuitous rabbit hole got me to cow magnets. :p

I added lunges to my weight workouts last week.

Today I think I tweaked something in my quad. 😬

Dang it!!

*wonders where the ice packs are*

Welp. I did manage to do some work as well as exercise.

A couple of hours. :p

It's hot and I am tiiiiiiiired.

Tonight I watched Alligator (1980). Love it!
I’ve been on a bit of a b-movie monster kick lately.
The Howling (better than a b-movie in my opinion, but others may not agree)
Piranha (1978)
The Blob (1988)

All great movies. Why can’t people make these kind of movies now? Why do they always try to make them bigger and more complicated than they have to be?

What are some others?

I think back on the 50's period for the early sci-fi/horror films . . . and the first films of a few future stars

Steve McQueen, of course, in the Blob (his first staring role) - 1958

Them - 1954 - with James Whitmore, Edmund Gwenn, James Arness, Fess Parker

Invasion of the Body Snatchers - 1956 - with Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldblum, Leonard Nimoy, Kevin McCarthy - the scene where the girlfriend (Becky - Dana Wynter) wakes up in the abandoned mine and has been transformed - and the last scene with Sutherland.

The Fly - 1958 - "Help me! Help me!"

The Incredible Shrinking Man - 1957 - the cat and the spider scenes (not been a big cat or spider fan ever since)

Tarantula - 1955 - with Clint Eastwood's 1st movie role as fighter jet squadron leader.

This movie left an indelible mark on childish psyche.

That scene! Where the giant ants are on top on the ant hill and one of them rolls a human skull down the slope. All the while making that noise.

😨

I had nightmares for an entire week. I can still picture that clip.

Note: Parents, monitor what your young children are watching. Eesh. 😬

Saw this one a number of times, as a kid.
