Did not know about #5. Interesting. I just bought the ingredients for making it from scratch. Looked too easy to get it wrong - and cheaper than buying it all the time.

I've been thinking of making my own vanilla also. I need to use up what I have. Right now there are 3 different varieties in my baking box.

That's probably the real stuff and not the imitation. Real stuff has too much alcohol in it to go bad too quickly, I would think.

True. I have had some of my vanillas for years.

I am getting fresh picked blueberries in my farm share this week....4 pints!!

Yum! I made the cheesecakes with fresh blueberries. Frozen is fine for the topping but they really need to be fresh for inside.

Had an amazing day.

My friend had a debilitating degenerative illness, MS. But, he was up for some company. I worked it out w his wife and son and we surprised him, including our buddy who now lives in AZ and has been in town for a few days.

Well… we spent 7 hrs there, laughing, eating and drinking, telling stories like it was the old days. It was nothing short of amazing.

Just an amazingly great day.

I was actually a little giddy tonite. The whole day surpassed my expectations. There is nothing like great friends. The visit did him well. I have not seen him this happy and engaged in several years.

Sounds like a wonderful, W! What a marvelous thing to do for your friend!
