I was thinking of thatMany breeds have a rescue site. You can fill out the adoption questionnaire and send it in. When approved, they will add you to their adoption list.
Awww Fred the tuxedo cat.....hi fredTDK lives here with Ethyl. Since they are both torties, I tell them that they are mother and daughter even though they aren't. Ethyl is the boss cat of the house. She was glad to see us. TDK tied into Panther, her wrestling buddy, about 30 minutes after making sure all was well here.
Here is Fred, the former barn cat:

Fred the cat has Stockholm symdrome..... hahahahaFred isn't the sweetest cat on earth, but she's consistent. She has settled in to being a housecat, and she has always liked her mother, the landlady, even if she did trap her, make her ride in the car, and got her spayed. She would still likely be outside as the barn cat except for those other cats that came. When Fred started spending time with the mule next door, the landlady called her in and into the house she went. Fred knows her name. So does Ethyl.

And horses have a prey drive that sometimes overwhelms common sense.... oh a leaf lets buck and run awayHmmm, maybe. Fred is one of the smartest cats I have ever known. In fact, the more cats I spend time with, the smarter I think the entire species is. Dogs, too, as a general rule. And I was told that horses are stupid, but theirs is a more gentle approach to things. Good thing, big as they are. You do have to remember that when dealing with them.

I've found most animals to be smarter than given credit for - although there are a few exceptions. Always are, right?Hmmm, maybe. Fred is one of the smartest cats I have ever known. Is that what it's called? Thought I was just being skittish. And horses have a prey drive that sometimes overwhelms common sense.... oh a leaf lets buck and run away
Are you keeping this criteria in mind when out looking at horses, Wat? Asking for some friends...Really, they are two betas in search of an alpha.

Yeah... and breeding has a lot to do with it... you can breed in or out stupid... I have seen itThat seems to depend on the horse. The 2 that the landlady has now, one is a flake. He'd take a very skilled horse person to ride. he overreacts to stuff. I've watched him bolt out of the barn over nothing discernable. The other one seems quite unaware. He was Calypso's buddy and I think he let Calypso do all the watching and the thinking for him, so he's a bit lost without him. Really, they are two betas in search of an alpha.
Yeah... and breeding has a lot to do with it... you can breed in or out stupid... I have seen it
So that's how you fix it.Yeah... and breeding has a lot to do with it... you can breed in or out stupid... I have seen it
