The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Happy Wednesday!!! I read it all - some sank in. I'm on cup #2. We're going to town for breakfast in a little while. And to visit. I was a regular there when I worked here, so they'll remember me.

No, Lili, no more nurses. Been awhile, actually.

This auction site does a 15 minute rule. They don't do sniper bidding. I'll put one in tomorrow afternoon. I'm still trying to decide how much money I'll get off of for it. It is through the blessings of Allah that I can afford such frivolity as it is. I may get out and shoot the one I have.

I'm reading a M1 book. How to build one to make it more accurate and better functioning. Looks like fun, actually. I've already learned a great deal, such as about lapping the bolts.

I have never operated a Lee Enfield, but their (they're/there) bolts are legendary. I have an Eddystone M1917 which has the bestest bolt of any rifle I own. Mauser bolts tend to be a touch sticky. I wonder if they can be stoned or polished or the like to make them better. No matter - I'm stuck on M1s ATM

You're buying a Harley? Nice!

Eeewww, look at the colour of that?
That's some damn pissy "coffee."

I can’t win for losin this mornin!!

You’re right. It does look a tad bit like coffe flavored water… yek!

Where’s OM when ya need her?

———

It’s grab what coffe ya want now kiddies! I gotta go to the office and do some insuranceing. Have a great day all, whether you’re just starting it, halfway thru it or sleeping it off!!

I love Dark Side of the Moon! I'm with you on Sade, also! Girl can SING!

I can't believe I for got to list HEART as one of my all-time favorites! Those ladies have consistently put out great music!

I'm also mostly unimpressed with new artists covering the old bands. Knowing the originals, they pale in comparison. That said, I do quite like Dua Lipa and Elton John's mashup of Cold Heart.
I’ve seen The Floyd twice (Gilmour version in ‘88 and ‘94) and Sade three times! I love Jazz and she’s about the closest thing we have to a smoldering sultry jazz voice in our age. For those that have only heard the easily listening radio version of her, give that band a deep dive. You wont be disappointed.

Heart! Talk about another woman with a set of pipes! Ann is right up there vocally in my book with Sade, LInda Ronstadt, and Karen Carpenter for pure vocal range. Nancy wasn’t bad on guitar either😊.

As a rule, I don’t follow modern pop…except…Dua! She popped up on my radar during the Lockdowns and countless hours surfing U-Toob! I like the Elton collaboration she did. But I think my favorite is this:

Bonus Linda!

It might be a good thing. Now the music is free? My first concert was Led Zepplin and tickets was $15, but that was about eight times minimum wage at the time and an album then cost $10.
First band I saw…The Man in Black…Johnny Cash! Came to our HS gym, went with my mom and dad, I was maybe 6…7 tops?

Second band. K.C. And the Sunshine Band! Church trip to Carowinds in Charlotte. It was an amphitheater there in ‘74…me and several other kids climbed over the wall and snuck in🤣. Even though you could hear the music all over.

Talking about burnt coffee...I LOVE IT!!!! 8 used to work graveyard shifts at a convenience store and the first thing I did was poor a cuppa mud that had been sitting in the pot burning for 8 hrs..but 8 didn't drink it black (8 like non burnt coffee strong and black) but the mud needed sugar and cream...mmmm now I'm craving coffee crack
