Anyway, home. I have to see about trying to winch this-here tractor onto the trailer since the starter seems to have taken a fritz.

Point is, Mother Dearest is not allowed on the Watcycle. Either of them.


Did anyone have any doubts? The damned tractor wouldn't/won't start, so it got winched. It's properly loaded and secured and ready to ride Out West. I think the starter has crapped out, so I'll steal the starter off the spare one. With 70YO machines, having spares is a winning concept.

It seems that Wat has a lot of WW2-era machinery. I like the stuff. It'd be fun to go more turn-of-last-century Steampunk, but that's a shiny Dime to get into.


I hope that the starter off the other tractor is a direct fit for this one.

Reminded of 30 yrs ago when I took a VCR to a repair shop. Owner said it was a 10 cent piece that was known to break. He replaced it for free - angry at the company for choosing not to make a better part over the greed of customers buying new when it would break. He got a very good tip and I learned a very good lesson.

I went to school with a couple of guys who got into electronics and TV repair. Back when that was a thing. We lost track when I moved, and I have wondered when I think of them what they did for a living after TV repair went out the window.
