EVIL BIG BUSINESS
How to run a business for the benefit of the workers and not the owners.
How to create a better Capitalism by putting Social Justice first.

The modern liberal (progressive trending Socialist) is, at heart, a business person. They don’t want to “own” the business, that is unseemly, Capitalist, and beneath them, but they do want to control it, direct its output, write its policies, manage its practices, and then reap the benefits of ownership in the form of taxes without owning a single share of stock or deigning to sit demeaningly on the board of directors (evil Capitalists) where they might actually learn something about the realities of running a business. It’s just the right thing to do. Business, to them, exists not to make a profit for the investors but rather is only granted license to exist in order to advance the public weal (and create a public teat).

[Look at the way they run government where they have all but forced the workers to unionize in order to protect themselves from the predatory practices of government policy and pay. Take teachers, for example, who they lionize rhetorically and then pay minimally thus devaluing them and de-incentivizing future teachers with ability.]

The modern conservative business person works daily to outdo the liberal in all those same forms.

My company ( when I owned it) would never be defined as "big business", I did have employees that numbered in the double digits.I never once ran my business for the workers benefit.I ran it for mine. They were just fortunate to be part of it.

If I had a good year, my employees earned exactly what they expected, if the year was bad, they still earned exactly what they expected. They never saw a cut in their pay cheques. If they are not going to share in the risk, then why should they share in the benefits?

Keeping a balance between generating a good income and ensuring worker satisfaction is always the most difficult part of running a business. However, with tools like Zoom 10DLC, achieving this balance becomes a little easier. The Zoom 10DLC SMS campaigns guide https://clerk.chat/blog/zoom-10dlc-sms-campaigns-guide/ provides valuable insights on how to effectively manage SMS campaigns, enabling businesses to maintain clear and efficient communication with both customers and employees.

Still waiting on those radical leftists to start their own businesses and show the rest of us how to do it properly.

Honestly while you are probably one of the "good ones" the idea that how many people you employ should be a measure of your size doesn't make sense in the modern world. Many, many companies outsource much of their labor specifically to keep their status as a small business. The janitors don't work for 'X' they work for Janitors Inc. The security doesn't work for 'X' they work for Securitas. HR is really two part time workers, all the meaningful HR stuff is actually handled by a Temp agency. So on and so forth.

When you look at some specific industries, specifically anything involving lots of computer work can be both very small in terms of employees and huge otherwise. Twitter is a pretty decent example here and yes they are into the four digits . At their peak they were 7.5k Right now they are sitting around 1.5k. You would think a company that huge would be higher than that.

Yes, risk was a big factor. I had it, they didn’t. They could walk away but I’m still here with all the overhead. I treated my employees and contractors more than fairly, but in the end I was the lone man standing with all the debt and responsibility.

As to the OP, CEO salaries seem out of whack so sure, living wages would kill businesses.

Thanks you for that, but I was not what I would call a "good one". I was am a business man, I took the risks, and I expected my employees to work to make me money. If they didn't work, they got fired, the ones that did work got good pay and good benefits and bonuses and annual raises.

My post wasn't really about company size/labour force. I was just expressing my case as an owner,vs someone claiming employees had a "right" to have a share of profit, without them carrying a portion of the risk.

100%.

I ended up with a "partner" due to a job tanking. He was willing to forgo pay for a bit to help me out ( worked for free). Since he was not in a position to fiance a share portion, I agreed that if he did that, and I could survive the loss, I'd give him a share, and let him purchase more if he desired. Over the years he did buy more....like 49%

He now owns the company, and has a "few"more employees than I ever did....lol

Yes the upper management/board/chair/ceo's etc in many corporations earn hugely overvalued salaries, but they are approved by the shareholders, so blame them. ( I ended up in upper management in two of my suppliers companies after I sold and did make some obscene salaries for 8 years...)

You should probably have started with the mirror.
EVERYONE is a radical leftist, to you. That's the problem; when you hold pathological and anti-social beliefs that are that out of touch with the rest of the world, you cannot relate to how anyone else thinks, and so everyone else seems "Radical," "Marxist," etc.

Kind of how a 7'-6" tall person would call everyone else around them a "Midget." Same line of thinking here.

There was exactly ONE PERSON on this board, out of several hundred, whom I would consider a radical leftist, and I have not seen her post in quite a while.

One way to start a business is keep it as low key as possible, with learning how to do or make something people need, and becoming known locally for that service or product. Don't spend a cent on consulting, marketing, or any of that shit. Be reluctant to hire employees, one at most. Accept only cash, silver, gold, or bartered items of practical value. Basically, stay under the radar of big organizations that specialize in taking your money.

The thing here is that owner, especially in your case, was the actual person taking the risk and more than likely had something direct to do with the profits. You didn't have shareholders from the sound of it. So nobody is actually talking about you. I'm over this whole "if they work they get paid" bullshit the right likes to spew. I hear business owners where I live claim they cannot find people to work and their work is simple. When asked if they have openings they inevitably don't have any.

Which the last guy was a locksmith who, assuming he wasn't full of shit his workers really get paid 20 bucks an hour to keep him company. He mostly helps people who have locked themselves out of their cars and or homes. Which normally isn't too bad but you never want to go to 'that part of town' at 2am for someone who locked themselves out. Above average chances of running into a drunk. I call bullshit.

I'm radical? See that's terrifying. I mean the difference between you an me as far as being a capitalist vs socialist boils down to you know lead paint causes all sorts of mental and health issues. If you had your way we'd let the market decide. Every fucking day I see a commercial about money that may be owed to me (probably not they were phasing it out when I was in the military) and my family for Mesotheomia caused by Asbestos used in building and as recently as the 2000s was around for much of the military.

I mean as Marines are fond of saying 'yoU Signed the Motherfucking Contract' and get that is what you and yourse believe. ITs the same reason why the absurd suicide rate is very rarely spoken about. So fuck the market. It is good for what its good for and trash for what its trash at.

I get that's radical to you. So be it.
