The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Got a ride in between rainy bits. Went to a different cemetery. Four wars worth of veterans. A fair number of (un)Civil War vets. Too many unknowns. Too many unknowns buried together in one plot. The VFW was there. The head of it came over to talk, so we talked for several minutes. He asked me to call him to schedule a speaking engagement at their meeting. I was flattered.

Half the pie is gone. More rain is coming. A nap might be on the schedule.

Sorry dear, but I set sail a couple of weeks ago!🤣. You’re invited for the race next year…mark your calendar! We’ll fit right in with the beautiful people!

I’m so jealous you saw a race in Monza!😮. How cool. I lived in the Old Country for five years and never was able to catch one. I would love to catch Monza, Red Bull Ring, Nurburg Ring (new), or Silverstone! We have three chances here in the US now, so that’s more likely than not.

Now, your Morning Z:

I have never been to the Indianapolis 500. Always wanted to go. When I was a kid a lot of the local stock car and sprint car drivers would try to qualify.

Local guys like Walt Ader and Mario Andretti were always on the prowl to make the field. Mario had a lot of success there and his son too.

Our local track used to the Flemington Speedway. One of the fastest 1/2 mile ovals. Back then all of the local tracks used to have special Memorial Day races. Flemington, Stafford speedway, Nazareth.

Did a Memorial Day service this morning. Then to see my mom.

Still no power. They replaced the two poles last nite, but now rain and thunderstorms are preventing further progress. At least we can get thru the road now and don’t feel landlocked.

We had such a nice time at our impromptu cookout yesterday.

Raining now so no outdoor work. But I do need to get more sunflowers and pumpkins planted so I’ll start them.

Have a good memorial day, all.

Sorry to hear that. Supposed to stop by ten and high of 76 tomorrow. Hopefully that will help.
