The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Will you be available later for harassing, G? My "friend" wants to know! 🤣🤣🤣
Tell your ā€œfriendā€ I am open to harassment but she only goes on my favourites list if she was brought up right like you and Kathy. I assume you will be her referee if she applies. Oops I am not being inclusive there by assuming ā€œsheā€ 🤭

For me it was whisky on my 18th. I too can’t stand the smell of it and here I am living in Scotland LoL
Similar. Got hold of a bottle of whiskey in high school w some friends. Got screamingly drunk, sick and then hungover. Couldn’t drink liquor of any kind for 10 or so years. Just made me shiver.

But I got over it!

I don’t drink too much liquor, but do have bourbon every now and again. And 7 and 7 whenever I’m at an event like a wedding or a work function.

I don't do alcohol now for health reasons. Odd glass of wine or peach schnapps with lemonade and ice (Not 7 Up!)

I got drunk for the first time on champagne at a New Year's Eve party at Berchtesgaden, Germany when I was 16. My family was there for a ski trip; my sister and I were allowed to go to the party with my parents.

My parents were always pretty liberal about drinking with us. My dad said he would rather we drank at home than sneak out to drink.

I had never had champagne and LOVED it! Sis and I were tipsy, not plastered, drunk. Parents were watching.

The next morning we were rousted out of bed about 0700 by my father to go skiing. Neither of us wanted to go, however, Daddy insisted. It was a pretty miserable morning for the two of us until we sobered up. Parents made sure we stayed on the bunny slopes.

I still like champagne but I've never gotten drunk on it again! šŸ¾ šŸ„‚

Good story but that makes you an expensive date Lilli. You might have to come off my favourites list unless you accept Cava as a substitute LoL

Was brunch good? Afternoon? Are you getting that line of storms where you are, B2?
Brunch was wonderful with friends. The coffee shop is where they roast their own coffee beans. I had a cheesy egg burrito. And lots of talk with other widows and widowers. We are a close group that help and support each other.

Then of to play games with my friends of 40 years.

The storms came through and it was just rain. No damage

Perfect!!! I have used the grinder squint myself. And half may be a bit generous.

Happy Memorial Day!!! Looks like rain here shortly. The coffee is up and it's almost time for a refill. Today is still kinda up in the air as far as "plans" goes. All y'all were chatty last night. I may catch up, and I may not. Probably. There no malice in our chalise. I'm getting fond of (almost) all y'all and that really kinda has tooken me a bit by surprise. I'ma blame Lilianna and Wonderer . . . .

:ROFLMAO: :nana:

Did you get a ride in, Wat? Do you take any of the cats along?

Post a pic of your new rifle, please!

Happy Monday, Muffin!!! I moved the bike to cut the grass - it stays in the yard during the week. So, no, a ride was plotted but I didn't push hard enough to make it happen. Cats stay inside - I can't abide feline road pizza. And I lost the rifle auction, but, so it goes. There are others. There's a guy selling a very early extremely nice Winchester M1 in the town I'm working in during the week. He has several for sale. I think I'll reach out to him and go to visit and talk and see what we can work out.

Solemnly remembering my father and uncles that served in WW2, my cousins that served in Vietnam and then the Golf Wars that are no longer with us. I have fond memories of them, their kindness, love and laughter. May you also have such memories today.

My grandfather's (when he was a major - he made bird) WW2 desk name plaque is sitting on that table over there >>>>> looking at me. It's with his wind-'em-up mantel clock, both ready to go to my son.

Good you have these things, particularly the clock. I have my great grandmother's skeleton clock. Sat on my granfathers side board then my father's. Been in the family since 1870s and will next got to my daughter. I had it serviced and the dial silverd again. Keeps time to within a minute or so a week.
